TM P226 Slide lock not engaging
So today i get my brand new tokyo p226 and fire 1 mag and the slide lock doesn't engage until i fire 3-4 shots after i'm out of bb's to get the slide lock to go up, also when i check it for gas there is a small amount of pressure on the valve then i just bump it to ensure there is still gas in and almost none comes out
Anyone know the fix? Could it have to do with the mag cooling? |

Mine used to do that with the stock plastic as well, not right off the bat tho, drop of oil under the slide lock, and work it in, make sure its not bent at all, and just use it a few times.

i just put the third mag and ya the slide is going back far enough so i will throw some oil on it, what oil would you recommend that i won't have to go out for because i would like to get it working tonight but its like 6:30
EDIT: So the slide lock popping about a mm out is the official safety right? |

just make sure when u have the slide off, the lock comes up far enough to catch the slide, sometimes with the cycle its going to fast and the lock doesnt come up fast enough, either cant, or something restricting it, thus the oil. Just use AI 1.5wt silicone oil like ud use for maintaining it in ur Propane and such.
Oh and the safety is actualy the slide release lever, you push it in from the other side and it locks the trigger with the slide on.

lol i meant the slide release so i assume you are talking about the same thing. The slide lock still works it just doesn't engage after the last round it takes a few shots, The slide lock can go about twice as high as it needs too, Could it be bouncing off the slide lock notch in the slide?

If your using propane, try using some duster gas, the high pressure gas may be causing the slide to cycle too fast for the bb follower in your mag... But I hear this is a common problem among TM p22s if not all p226s in general.

Im just using Green gas right now, it could be cycling too fast because when i put the mag in and pull the slide back it locks so i know its working
anything you could recommend before i go searching for duster |

as green gas is propane, as I stated thats for sure, it just shoots to fast during rapid fire to lock after empty, ususaly after u stop fire, then pull once, it will lock, otherwise, theres a 5/10 chance of it locking during a good fire fight lol. Know from experience.
BTW, metal slides lock better and usualy alot more than reg, but ive had mine skip a lock back once or twice.

Not really.. just adds great look and feel, as well as durability.
However as far as I know a plastic/stock TM GBB has never been reported breaking from long term propane use. Madmax even has a thread somewhere asking that question. I never had any problems with my stock plastic kit, still have it. Creation FMU kit just happened to be dangled in front of me by a brainwashing ILLusionist, great price, so I took it
