What's the point of this part?

On the "top" of the gearbox theres a part connected to a spring. Every time the sector gear turns, the thingy on the bottom moves this part... I know this sounds retarded, but its hard to explain... since i don't even know the name of the part... hopefully someone understands..

Okay progress ... uhh hrm.. turning into a game.. but heh. On the bottom of the sector gear, there is a little "nub", and every time the gear turns, it goes against this part connected to a spring. it is visible from the outside of the gearbox. (my gearbox is a version 3)

yes, the "nub" hits the tappet plate with every revolution of your sector gear, which in turn moves the loading nozzel connected in the hopup which feeds a new bb into the gun.

*Sigh* ill try to take a picture. i didn't mean the little metal pin in the sector gear, on the bottom of the gear theres this carrot shaped thing. Its not on that diagram thing. (Its not the tappet plate)

unless your looking at the mechbox upside down, the anti reversal is on the bottom where the motor fits in..

He's asking about the cut-off lever. The cut off lever disconnects the wiring circuit after one cycle, which gives you the option of semi-auto. Most airsoft guns are full auto requiring a special means of making it fire semi. Some guns (such as the G&G M14 I'm working on now) are semi-auto all the time unless the selector based cut off is moved out of the way allowing for full auto fire.

Like CDN_Stalker said, that part is the cut-off lever - it disconnects the mechanical trigger from the circuit, causing the circuit to open up. Once broken, power cuts off after that single revolution, and it effectively allows your gun to fire ONE shot in semi-auto. In full auto, that lever won't trip and will allow your mechanical trigger to remain closed, and thus, feeds power to the circuit to allow full auto fire.
