alas manufacturers only make so many fake parts for failed guns.
If it exists I haven't seen it anywhere, you can always try making one:P |

I found this, but i dont know what he used. But i like the look of it.
Anyways, it didn't really fail, just i guess there was some document signed during the civil war, and it ruined it. Heard the Army is looking into or has already picked the scar? Gah do i feel dumb, i remember thinking about this before, and i must have forgotten. The carry handle on the xm8 is already straight, just it needs a rail... It's most likely a G36 with a modified XM8 conversion kit.

the one in the pic is a g36c rail, just need to make a few cuts and glues for it to work, looks good. i myself just modded a g36 scope into mine, i had previously use a g&p m16 scope, and even a 30mm rds, what evers your fancy you can do it. its about the same amount of work to do either scope and/ or rail. the carry handl on the xm8 is a slight/ gradual curve, its not egsactly flat, but either way if you get a mediumlength rail you can put it in place, but for best results, i HIGHLY reccommend you just remove the optics houseing/shell, grab a g36 side rail and mount it in place, then you retain the look of the xm8, it looks cleaner more professional, and allows you to change out the optics as you desire and the optics dont sit so high, they would sit egsactly in place of the stock one would... got that?

well i tried doing the optics mod, trying to get an aimpoint in there. I got really impatient, and annoyed, and i totally butchered my stock xm8 optics housing.. so this is a good option.
can you link a pic? are you suggesting to put a rail on top of the body where the housing use to be? or get another housing with a rail, and mount another scope on top of that? |

no just put a rail right where the optics use to be, you MIGHT need to use a riser rail (sig 552), but an acog and aimpoint go in place just perfect. i dont have a pic, and i drew a crude diagram a long while back for amazing kg3, we had this discussion once, but i cant locate it.
just remove old houseing, put g36 side rail (or any short rail) in place (bolt it down obviously) and voila! |

I don't know if you drew it or not, but i remember an xm8 with a cantilever mount drawn on, and someone called it adorable?
