I read that they will only last for 300-500 rounds before the gears strip.

I did something like that to my cheap Crossman Pulse M70, upgraded it to take 9v batteries instead of the 4 AA's.

Amazing, I thought the only upgrade was either a large black bag or trash bin attachment.

I have a bunch of spare lead acid 12v 2.0AH stick batteries, similar to the photo except connections are raised and on top (easy to solder). Great for solenoids on cannons and insane rate of fire mods. That and they are dirt cheap.
