M14 Scout ( custom barrel hack )
Springfield M14 S c o u t R i f l e Here is the latest configuration for my Custom Marui M14. The weapon is now a Springfield Scout Rifle. It's barrel has been cut down by 8cm -- making it the same length as an M16 rifle. With the shorter profile, the rifle retains the same accuracy, silent function, power (420fps) and durability of the original Marui M14. However, the only difference is that it's easier to carry and maneuver during the heat of battle. Trigger response with the Panasonic 9.6V 2000mah battery with Deans connections is quick with hardly any delay. So far I'm running stock on the internals and everything seems to be holding up pretty good. I am weary of the potential for the semi-auto function to mess up so most of the time I use controlled bursts of automatic fire. Here's the parts breakdown of what I used to build this model... in total I dropped $893 for this amazing weapon. Specifications:

It looks good. I was thinking about this after wondering why TM didn't have a longer inner barrel.

The guys at TM sometimes drives me insane with their short inner barrels!

Nice work... and I agree... just threw the FF shorty barrel on mine and the TK inner barrel (full length) still has an inch or two before it protrudes from the flash hider.
