anyone know what type of bbs i should be using to lower the AtoZ Dragunov SVD fps to 400??

That's not how FPS rules work.

Unless specified, it is always measured with 0.20g BBs.
Use a smaller spring.

well u can use heavier bbs to lower the fps can you not? i relize that when u chrono itll be at .20s but for this gun its not a matter of being chronod but not hiting as hard

The same energy is imparted on the BB, which will then be imparted on the target. A heavy BB will travel slower but still carry the same energy.

More weight will make it 'hit harder' and carry the velocity over a longer distance.

The only safe way to do it is to use a lighter spring.

also iv heard things called velocity reducers for snipers. Are they for real?? and if so will they work with this gun and where do i get??

They attach via fucked up 14mm thread (ie, the opposite to our normal thread, so Lefty tighy, rightly loosy). I had on one my AUG, with maximum restriction FPS would go down from 360 to 180. They work by "blocking" the barrel with a sort of a valve, once the traveling BB pushes enough air in front of it creating pressure, valve opens letting the air and BB out.

I don't think the AtoZ uses AEG springs.

Are you sure you're shooting over 400fps? I have one and it was shooting around 370 fps stock.

Yeah the ATOZ/King Arms Dragunov uses specialized springs, not regular AEG springs. Currently KA only offers an upgrade spring (500fps) for it.

The King Arms uses NORMAL AEG springs. I have one. It should be perfectly safe for games as it is.

So it works with .20 and heavier ammo, you just change the hopup setting.

It's still within the limits of sniper rifle velocity in most places. I dont understand why you would want to go lower than it's stock power.

This may help (they do take AEG springs, I had it apart and install a sp100 and 110)

For any that might be interested I just received my King Arms SVD, first thing I did was get out the Chrony and do some tests.

All were done with hop set for .028 (just to lazy to remove hop setting!)
this was done indoors, Rifle is in stock form.

all based on 10 shot average

.020....472 FPS....low 468 high 478

.025....439 FPS...low 437 high 444

.028.....415 FPS....low 400 high 417

.030.....397 FPS....low 389.....high 399

Accuracy test, done outside open field, slight breeze at times, shooting at 3ft x 3ft tin sheet hanging off the ground approx 4ft. (shooting from a rest) distance was 70 of my paces..about 190-200 ft.

.020, zip out like lighting, good range get there fast, but shot to shot were not very accurate for sniping, I have a TM spetz at 400fps accuracy is about the same with .020, don't recommend.

.025....even though 30 fps slower, they rip out pretty good also, range is about the same as .020, accuracy is better and acceptable for sniping, if you were in no wind situation, would be a good choice.

.028.....good FPS obviously don't get there as fast as the other two, but seems to be more consistent with the hop setting and shoot straight even in the slight breeze I was shooing in. recommend for sure.

.030....do seem to take long time to reach out, have less range than the ,020 and .025 about the same range as the .028 but slower getting there, hop was good, accuracy was similar to the .028, recommend but with slower reach out time I believe .028 to be better choice for the said FPS the rifle is shooting.

BB brand KSC for all weights.

I need to do more testing, the rifle is pretty impressive out of the box, I found .028 the best choice for what I have, .030 might be better in a rifle with a bit more spring, say 500-520 FPS (w/.020) the .030 would be the way to go.
But for an out of the box sniper I am impressed, 472FPS (with hop set for .028) it likely shoots 490FPS approx w/.020, not bad.

Hits on the tin plate, .028 were the best, I had a ribbon of mind tape at 50 ft and one at the target as trying to keep shots as accurate as possible, except for two flyer's I hit the plate 9 out of 12 shots, the three missed but not by very much, should prove deadly, I did not do grouping on paper target, but the scuffing in the tin showed grouping to be approx 12-14in. Trigger pull on this rifle is simply its down fall, it creeps until beads of seat start to appear, what seems to be endless heavy pull of raspy endlessness it finally breaks! got to try to something about that, accuracy will improve, if you had to do a snap shop or shot on moving target, forget it.

More testing to come, springs on order, my try a couple tight bore barrels for fun, though I don't thing they are really needed, but what the heck.

So it works with .20 and heavier ammo, you just change the hopup setting. It's still within the limits of sniper rifle velocity in most places.
