Not sure if you read about the rules, but since you are 16 you will not be able to buy an AEG legally for 2 more years. Depending on your local field rules, playing may not be possible until then either.

That gives you time to do research, gather your cash, and for the gun itself to become common enough so that lots of parts are available.

Damn it im finally say this.

Greylocks go get stuffed already. If a field will let people play at 16, it means they have THEIR PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIANS persmission. Who do you think is going to buy the gun?

Give up the friggin trolling already and get a life.

/End of rant.

West56, excellent choice on an AEG. It's nice to see people being different and not going the M4/AK route like everybody else & their grandchildren.

Grey wasn't trolling, so try to calm down. I've not seen eye-to-eye with him in past instances, but I don't know why this particular response of his should set you off. He said what's written here without all the sarcasm and "oh noes now you're gonna get it" attitude many other past responses from other posters contain.

BCk, take a chill pill and read what I said again.

18+ is mandatory to buy; that is a fact. I did not say that an adult could not buy it for him.
Most places these days dont allow people under 18 playing, so checking with the local fields as I suggested is a Very Good idea before thinking of buying anything.
It is also a fact that this gun is quite new, so finding parts for it will be tough for a while until it's more common.

I'm sorry that you dont like facts, but this is stuff this person should know and insure compliance with before spending money on something he may not be able to use for 2 more years.

Better to be told about what may affect his playing than to find out he just shelled out hundreds of dollars for nothing. I know I would be pissed if I had spent that much on a gun and it would turn out there's nowhere I could play.

If he has someone to buy for him, supervise him, and place to play, wonderful. But I dont read minds, nobody here does.

Cool, then you went through the procedures and got the OK. Just so know know, there's no way for us to know that information unless you tell us. That's why you were asked, and also to save you grief.

Grey means no offense, we just take the age thing very seriously here, and despite what BC_K said about it being clear that you have permission, we all know thats often not the case.

/end discussion

BTW, if/when you open your gun up, take photos. We dont see much in terms of the type 89 around here and although there are some pics out there, i dont think we have yet to have anyone in Canada post up mechbox pics.
