My M14 died last Saturday and I was able to compete against AEGs with my Hi Capa 5.1. Accuracy is good if you get yourself a good brand (and can be better if you upgrade it further!), a few guys witnessed what TM could do last week.
If you have to find a fault, it's that GBB's have limited ammo so you have to be a bit pickier about shots. |

The idea is to put as much plastic as possible between me and the enemy so I can make them duck for cover and escape. I do not wish to be able to single-handedly take a whole squad with my side-arm (otherwise I would only carry the side-arm )

It really depends how and when you plan on playing/using this setup.
If you just play in warm weather, GBB's fine, but if you play in the fall (like about now) when its about 5C, or in winter, forget gas -- especially for a full auto; after being in the cold half the day, you'll pull the thing out, fire about 5 shots that will fall ~10 ft in front of you, the gun will vent all it's gas in your face, and the whole field will stop to laugh at you. Carrying a small SMG (AEG) is a good alternative, IMO; as a sniper, if you aren't in "sniper acceptable" ranges you're probably getting rushed by several people with automatic guns. Unless you're some kind of IPSC master (maybe you are, I don't know you), engaging that with a pistol is going to be pretty ugly. Personally, I got an MP7 for this (my SAMR is a bit too hot for close range engagements). I like it because it's lightweight and pretty compact, and mags are easily stored in regular pistol pouches (which is good since I'm already carry rifle mag pouches). Don't expect AEG performance from the MP7. A lot of people slam it because they expected it would be an AEG -- but nobody ever said it would be, it's an AEP, and performs as such. It's comparable to a stock, duster-powered TM GBB. The main difference is that A) it works in cold weather, and there's no gas hassles, and B) it'll fire full auto without any cooldown problems. You already have a high power gun for long range engagements, you're really just looking for something low-powered for close-in engagements that won't injure people, and still give you enough firepower to be competitive. For me, that was the MP7.

The mp7 seems like a good alternative... but I think I'll wait a little bit and buy a mp5k, since my cousin will have one for sale (cheap) in a couple weeks when he buys his AK-47...

I would say TM mp5k with a one point sling. If not I would use a TM high capa. But that is just my opinion.

I would get the spring shot gun. This is the cheapest one, it's a good choice for snipers in my head.

Just bought a used mp5k with mags, battery, charger, case and holster for the mags on this forum!

P90 is a very viable option. Not knocking the other suggestions, but speaking from personal experience.
To really make it effective, spend a little time and build yourself a custom sling/rig. I had the P90 sitting vertically aligned on my back, just like a backpack, with a quick-release clip on my chest. When I needed the P90, I'd lift my right arm up a bit, unclip the sling on my chest with my left hand, and the P90 would swing up towards my right hand, nearly in the ready-to-shoot position. Neat-o. Also, don't forget the TM Mk23 NBB - Silent but deadly. Also, it tends to be powerful enough even in colder weather, since it's got pretty good spanking power in warm weather. And it's accurate. |
