ZOMG V.2 upgrades in a V.7?
Hi Guys,
Well, the M14 makes me hard, and I'm getting a little bored with my S System. My question is this: Could I fit the metal piston/piston head, torque up gears, and 170% spring in the M14s Ver. 7 mechbox? I talked to one person, and they said it was basically a Ver.3 with the motor in a different place. Is this true? Any help much appreciated. Nic

Well this person was wrong.
The V7 Gearbox is not a V3 and the only parts that are universal is the spring, piston and bushings. Gears, cylinder, piston head, cylinder head, nozzle, spring guide and tappet plate are all different. |

I believe the piston head is the same throughout most versions, including 7...

the piston head is probley the same seeing the piston is the same.

I just did some research, and it looks as though only the piston and piston head are interchangeable. I saw some pics of the mechbox for the M14, and man it looks different.

Piston head is the same.
Lots of people have also put v2 and v3 spring guides in. Not sure if they modified them or whatever. v7 spring guides are now out though as well Gears will be any day now and hopefully Nozzles and tappet plates as well. So far mine is upgraded with normal v2 bushings,piston,pistonhead,spring and soon to be m14 tightbore when it gets here any day now. |

it looked to me that g&g m14 used standard gears,piston,piston head,spring and v3 spring guide. tm is a different animal though.

But I said if before and I will say it again. 360 in the m14 seems more like 400 in other guns. Why? The hopup seems to be very good. Very adjustable allowing for pinpoint precision in the hop up. I will admit though part of its from the spring. I picked a very consistent spring too. But once you get the hopup dialed in it stays and the shots are very consistent you can maintain a beautiful flat tragectory all day and not worry about the hopup changing 2 mins later. |

I've watched my brother-in-law's TM M14 in action and I have to second Blastyman's observation: the M14 is incredibly (disgustingly so) accurate.
