let's say you have an MP5K with a damaged upper receiver. how can you get a replacement part for it? none of the online retailers seem to sell it by itself.

WE for example readily has replacement parts available in many stores.

you won't get it. the full trade steel receiver won't make it into Canada.

Try working with one of the retailers, specifically the one you originally purchased it from. Trigger Airsoft was able to get me a replacement lower for my KWA. Badlands is also trying to get me a second one (just in case...)

Are you certain? I ordered an mp5k that slowly passed customs and if it was just the upper, I don't think it should be any more of a problem. The only thing is the receiver I got didn't have the trades on the top and side, and this was due to some copyright issue in HongKong but Taiwan might have more luck.

Lowers are restricted, uppers are ok. There are tons of hits on google with "Airsoft Canada Lower receiver"

You're best bet is as stated; Contact a retailer (Trigger / B2) or VFC directly.

Why don't you just find someone to engrave it in Canada?

You should of custom ordered your MP5K from a retailer here.

I heard that Imperial Engravers is very reputable in the ASC. it's located in Toronto and not very convenient for me to make a run there, deposit the gun, then come back another day when it's finished. I think the total cost would run me an additional $250.

You can just ship it to him. I did this for a slide. Though i recently wanted more work done and he said he was too busy. Worth sending him an email anyway.
