PDI TBB vs Prometheus TBB

Hello,

I'm currently looking at TBB for my VFC HK-416D. I'm torn between the PDI 6.03 barrel, and the Prometheus 6.03 barrel. The price difference is around $30, with the PDI barrel being more expensive. I was hoping someone could offer some insight in regards to which would be the optimal barrel. In addition to this, I've read my gun's barrel is 250mm. The smallest TBB barrels I can find are 300mm, I presume this means it will protrude from the end of my gun, can this be hidden with a silencer? Thanks!

416D barrel length is 285 for the 10.5" version.

Both Prometheus and PDI barrels are made to a high standard, I use both in my own guns. I have not noticed a difference in performance between the two, but I have not done thorough testing as of yet.

I know a few guys who swear by Prometheus over PDI (just for barrels), in AEGs and spring rifles, citing that PDI has, or might have, small flaws or less QC standard. I have personally used Prometheus barrels in spring rifles and they are great, no question.

I've also run a few PDI barrels in various PTWs and GBBPs and they were really good as well.

Don't go tighter than 6.03mm, so you're on the right track there.

Thank you, very much appreciate the insight. Does this mean if I installed the 300mm barrel it would protrude from the end of the gun? Or perhaps the barrel extending piece that comes with the gun would cover it? Just trying to figure out the best way to retain the authentic realistic look.

Sounds like it makes the best sense to opt for the Prometheus TBB then, especially given the lower price. Thanks so much!

They're both amazing.
They also both make barrels for just about every length of gun. If you have to get a 260mm, then do that. Barrel length doesn't affect accuracy, so you don't need to be exact to the same mm lol

Ended up going with a 407mm Prometheus barrel, I bought a nice suppressor to cover it up when I don't have the barrel extender attached. The short barrel with the suppressor looks brilliant in my opinion. I certainly noticed an instant upgrade in accuracy, and FPS. Perhaps I was imagining it, but it even seemed to feed much nicer and have a more consistent ROF. The noise also appeared to change, perhaps this was the suppressor at work, I'm not sure. Thanks for the help though!
