This explain why it cycles perfectly fine and only happens in the one time on manual cocking as when the loading nozzle does not snap back fast enough the hammer gets caught inside the BBU question now is 1) do i need to find a way to have the hammer cock further back? 2) or do i need to find a way to have teh loading nozzle snap back faster. Note - everything is lubed correctly now and i think because of the heavier UAC aluminium loading nozzle and all the aluminium parts now in the loading nozzle the spring does not have the power to snap it back. Thanks. |

Why not switch back to the plastic TM nozzle and see how it goes?
There's a reason loading nozzles are plastic. It prevents wear on the other parts, and it can bend and absorb shock better. Aluminium nozzles can be nice in certain situations, but for most builds they are not a good idea.

because I don't have a cocking handle yet I fitted the heave stock sights on the slide, looks fine needed a little fitment HOWEVER on the underside where there is a hinge for the sight there is a big indent. On the stock TM the dent is not so big so I thought Hummm .... maybe the nozzle spring is not being compressed properly. So i used some electrical tape to cover the underside of the slide where the BBU goes and lubed it up and put it all back together for a final test! BAM!!! it all works perfectly now!!! all i need to do it Test fire it to see if it all works with BB's and Green gas. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL BUT THANKS DRAKKER FOR THE ASSISTANCE! |

ROUND 2 OF TESTING!!! Success and failure at same time !!
1) so with original TM mag everything operates like a dream no issues except i wen from 320fps all the way down to 275-280 fps ...... what am i doing wrong? 2) when i put in the TM extended mag the hammer only cocks half way when trigger is pulled. if i give it a little push a small *putttt* of gas comes out and recocks the hammer but when i pull the trigger same issue happens. SO LOST NOW LOL Any help? thanks |

1) Different mags can have different FPS, it depends on the output valve they have installed. Some valves have larger opening and let out more gas.
2) You should check the mag alignment, to make sure it is the same as the short mag. You can look through the breech and see where it sits. If they sit the same and there is no wobble, then it might be a problem with the valve on the long mag, or with your valve knocker, but if its the valve knocker, you'd probably be having issues with the short mag too. Make sure your part #57 still has the tab that keeps the mag aligned, sometime this tab breaks and mags will not sit properly. Shorts mags will fit better because of the bottom plate that prevents them going up too far, but its not the case with the long mags that will go up all the way.

1) i see 100% what you mean its annoying but i noticed that the new valve i installed is the same for all my mags. However for the original TM mag the valve knocker hits harder and gives more power and kick, but on the extended mag it does not hit as hard and the valve sticks out a bit more then the Stock tm mag wiht the same valve. Question is - i see that you can screw in and out the middle part of the mag valve a bit, does that do anything? does it help the valve to stay open longer for more power ? also i need to find a way to have the mag valve on the extend mag screw in further like the Stock mag as it is pushing against the valve knocker pushing the hammer back a bit, i think this is effecting how hard the valve knocker hits. 2) as for part #57 i don't see where that part is... lol ... on the diagram it says its the grip...... but using your logic it help me eliminate the issue of the extended mag not firing!!! i eliminated the valve knocker as your were right. correct me if i am wrong but is it the leaf spring???? as i adjust it a bit here and there (pain in the a$$) and it eliminates the problem. However, it does not work 100% of the time i would shoot a few round and then suddenly out of no where the pistol goes full auto and when it stop it goes back to normal then when shooting it then would randomly go back to full auto this happens like 20% of the time ... but 20% is alot am i going at thins all wrong or am i getting closer and closer? 1) I don't know much about valves, so I'll let someone else answer that one. Never really had problem with any.
2) My bad, it was part #52. Tweaking the leaf spring is asking for trouble if you don't know what you're doing. Every time you bend it you make it less durable too, so you want to play with it as little as possible. If the pistol goes full auto it means the arm on the leaf spring that resets the hammer sear is not doing its job. You probably bent it too much. I'd say you are getting there, you are encountering all the most common Hi-Capa/1911 problems. After that you'll know your way around a Hi-Capa. You can never get good if you don't fix problems. I learned all this fixing WE Hi-Capas. ;)

Not bad for a pistol design that's over a century old heh? That leaf spring is both genius... and a lot of trouble.
Congrats on your first build. I hope you have a lot of fun with it!
