Assistance Needed - M-Nub in AK Hopup
Hello ladies and gents, after about 2 hours of fruitless digging around the internet, I am turning to you in search of answers.
I have my R-hopped barrel ready to go, but I cannot find ANY information on how to install an M-nub on AK hopups. Google is finding countless tutorials on doing M4 hopups, but that's about it. I'm absolutely sure it's possible because the general idea is the same as on the M4, but I'm not up to going in dark and potentially butchering an M-nub and a hopup unit. Anyone done this before? Any links to actual functional/updated guides? Thank you for viewing. Cheers! |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

The install would be exactly the same. As any other type of hop unit. You just cut the nub to size test fit it. Test fit it again before you put it all back together and Bobs yer uncle. It could get a lil harder if you were planning on resizing the window in the hop unit but you would have likely model the barrel before needing to mod the hop unit extensively so that also shouldn't be an issue. Just test fit, trim, test fit and so on til it fits good and put it all together. The same way as the m4 hop up. The likely reason for lack of tutorials is exactly that reason. They are prety well the same.
http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/to...compatibility/ They discuss how the just all is prety well the same just cut the nub to the size of the rhop/hop window then test and retest/re trim till its perfect

Take out the two hop up screws that retain the adjuster, lift the hop up arm out. File away the part of the arm that holds the hop up nub, make it flat with the arm. Stick the M-Nub inside your hop up unit and align it with the window. Lower your arm on to the M-Nub, verify that it has stuck, and reassemble your hop up unit.
Its pretty self explanatory once you actually try it. |
