Yah, he is a new person that clearly doesn't value everyone elses experience, and thinks he is the only person to try this. At this point yah man, knock yourself out. Go with evike, enjoy American gun with no way to warranty or get it repaired, and probably a higher cost then what you could have in Canada. My god how stupid we all are to tell you to buy it here. What a bunch of dorks we are.

To be fair to the OP, that's not what was explained to him.
The logic provided to the OP was that "it is cheaper buy the gun local". He then took that into consideration, and applied the logic provided by everyone (about the UPS fees, etc) to the entire order he is making. I don't see the OP being argumentative or anything. He's just explaining that, with the additional information provided to him, it still makes better financial sense to place the entire order from evike. But to the OP: there is value in buying in-country that goes beyond just the cost. Warranty, repair, no risk of it getting seized at the border, and quicker to receive the gun. It also supports local retailers. Prices for airsoft guns won't go down, and retailers won't lobby for better import laws, unless there's a market for it. |

but we can only give him suggestions, so, just let him order from the states, so he can experience it. |

UPS is the biggest f'ing scam going. I paid $32 in fees on a $28 item the first and last time I shipped with UPS. That was before duty and taxes. F'ing fiasco.
God dam crooks.

40 dollars from your friend is 466... so that's 506 total? You didn't pay, your friend paid. But it's okay because it's not from YOUR pocket, but someone else's. Riiight... I know your type... YOU ARE STILL PAYING 40 DOLLARS CAD FROM SOMEWHERE; UNLESS THE RETAILER COVERS FOR IT, I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD COUNT IT AS A DISCOUNT. Let's go over your shopping list 1 more time. Transform 4:..... 319 USD (aka 389 CAD) Springs: ............18 USD Matrix RDS: .......36 USD 5 mags: ............40 USD S&H: ...............45 USD Duty: ...............75 CAD or 62 USD/ or 50CAD or 41 USD Total: About 520 USD or 634.21 CAD, not to mention brokerage fees. There is still a sales tax ontop of duties if applicable. Compared to domestic shopping list: Transform 4: .....389 CAD (AKA 319 USD) Springs: .............24 CAD Magazines: .........50 CAD Matrix RDS: ........72 CAD (lazy, only found one store in Canada that sold them so prices vary) S&H: .................25 CAD (Canada post, expedited) some retailers have free shipping so lookout for that Total: ..............560 CAD (633 CAD after tax @13%) So the difference is about 1 dollar, minus 1 midcap. If the midcap is so important to you, go ahead. Anticipate that duty is OVER 50 dollars because ICS is a Taiwan Manufacturer so it's going to charge you like crazy. I assume you do not know how duties work. Last edited by RainyEyes; April 16th, 2015 at 20:24.. |

It would have been roughly the same price but me getting much less (I paid 487 for the gun and 2 springs from mach1), but from evike it would have been 2-3 weeks, and the chance of getting a HUGE border cost which I do not want to make. As I stated earlier, evike would be the better option for actual cost but the risks coming with it like border seizure, 2-3 week delivery time, and if something went wrong that would take months to RMA. Just to clarify, I have ordered from the states, asia, and canada before and each of these has its own "value" to me. Asia usually takes 20-30 days, the US takes 14-21, and Canada takes under 4. Evike takes about a week to ship out, then 1-2 weeks for it to actually deliver. The shipping fees are absurd (I needed a WE g17 mag lip which was a couple dollars and it would have been 30$ to ship it, not even including duties so I said no right then and there), but this is a large purchase and with all the extras I am getting from it, and no "rush" it would have been a better option if I was getting everything. I just could not take the chance with duties and the border stuff, and like I said before RMA would probably be impossible. Last edited by williamj2543; April 17th, 2015 at 00:18.. |

I've had good experience with evike, the key was to order for 5 people at the same time and self clear at cbsa. Evike was nice enough to only write the final cost after coupon and without shipping and cbsa had me write out all of the guns I got. Since a lot of the guns on evike do not specify country of manufacture you get away without duty and monstrous ups brokerage fees. Though after the experience I'd say do this only if you expect to save at least 100cad, visiting cbsa does take quite a bit of time.
