http://www.apwcogan.com/plating-and-...-finishes.html
This is a company that specializes in Gun plating, and apparently they offer a black chrome, they sound super helpful and informative and do quotes over the phone. "PLATED FINISH: BLACK CHROME PLATING Black Chrome is the second hardest black finish available for firearms and the hardest finish available at a reasonable price. It is the premier finish when concealment is the first priority. Black Chrome has many of the same properties as regular chrome. However, in changing the plated deposit from a Light Grey color to Jet Black, we diminish two major properties of regular chrome, hardness and abrasion resistance. Yet it (Black Chrome) is slightly harder than Nickel, Chromes nearest competitor. It was never intended to be a highly wear resistant finish, like Hard Chrome. It has much greater wear resistance than any form of Bluing (Black Oxide) and due to the presence of Nickel, or Chrome, as a base coat, a greater corrosion resistance than a single coating of Chrome, or Nickel the to the base metal. Some of our clients are adamant about Black Finishes. This is the best bang for your dollar, if you are stuck on Black. For technical reasons we only offer this finish in a Matte surface texture and suggest the use of a wax impregnated oil on the exposed surface. Brownells offers a water soluble oil “Pro-Sheen” that is wax impregnated and works well on Black Chrome at two parts oil to one part water." Seems as though they only do it in matte. I'm sure you could call them and ask if the gloss black chrome is even possible. I really hope you can track something down to do so, cause MAN it would look sexy. I'm thinking you will have to look at standard chroming over hard chroming if you want the black look. |

Could you perhaps direct me to a sight that sells KJW Glock 27/TM Glock 26 metal slides but with glock trademarks because I have found it really hard to find trademarked slides.
Also, if you could, can you help me find a KJW G27 lower receiver that is plain black, because the one's that ship to Canada all have a Canada-soft clear lower receiver. Thanks. |

I just bought a KJW G27 and I discoverd it has not the safey trigger due to legal issues.
Can you tell me if it is prepared to ad it and if an aftermarket one or the TM G26 spare fit well? Nice gun the G27/26, I love sub compact handguns and after a lovely building of a Marui Detonics now I'll go with the G27 |

Hello Ladies and Gents,
After some time (what, 2 yrs?) i am finally glad to post something i have not seen done before. FULL "ANTI SNAG" GUARDER STEEL SLIDE. In the following photos you will see the "sharp" edges of the Guarder steel slide set, and below that you will see the plastic TM G26 slide, the aluminum KJW G27 slide, and the Guarder steel slide with no "sharp" edges, and full trades of course. since i know the question will come up, here is the process.... tahe original Guarder Steel Slide Kit, sand off allllll of the black coating to expose bare SILVER steel. then, sand your ass off for EONS. i started with 100 grit, then went to 600, then 1000, then used "synthetic steel wool" (#m makes it, it is maroon in color) to make the surface smooth yet still have a grain to it so the paint will adhere. special attention was paid to the front of the slide where most of the hard angles are cast into the slide. also, the upper edged were rounded more, as well as the rear of the slide. once this was complete, i cleaned it with a process i use for high end watch parts (i work on watches, and am an avid watch collector, so cleaning metals is not a stranger of a process to me) from there, i did not use CeraKote, Duracote, or any of the other heavy duty treatments to RE-blacken (BLUE) the slide. rather, i used Rust-Oleum High Temp (1200*f) black paint. yep, simple cheap and VERY effective if done right. the matte finish is almost perfectly colored to the real steel, and it feels smooth to the touch like real steel. also, if "dusted" on while spraying, only takes a few thin coats. in the following pics you will see the slide the day i installed it and you will see a few others (mentioned above). Please look closely to the "edges" and you will see the "snag free" effect. frankly, this is one thing i have always wanted to complete, and took an eon to finally do, so i am pleased to post it. This is also something i have never before seen done with an airsoft pistol, and i think it takes this to a new level. please excuse the pix of the slide NOT on the pistol, as it was completed last night and i would like to give it time to dry properly etc. but, you will get the idea. I am open to suggestions and feedback should anyone have any. these pics are from a post earlier in the thread to show the difference with the slide's angles, and their disappearance... Now, the same slide, just "SNAG FREE" and smoooooth'd....

This is looking good! The G26 is pretty much the only glock I like (I've got a thing for small pistols. There is something wrong with me I think?)
Keep up the awesome work dude. |

Nice work!
Is the Tokyo Marui G26 + Guarder slide still the best way to get a really nice G26/G27, or is any of the stock ones from other brands OK? |

TM Glock 26 race pistol
Race gun for my kids. I do not generally like red dot sights, but this one is a blast to shoot. Very accurate in its stock configuration.
