New outer barrel?
I am in the process of putting on a new, longer rail on my VFC M4 and as a result will need a slightly longer outer barrel.
I am looking for a 13" barrel, prefer something lighter then the stock outer barrel. Maybe a really stupid question but do all AEG outer barrels fit all guns? I am looking at a 13" G&P outer barrel in aluminum. OR Do I/Should I stick with VFC outer barrels? Other good quality brands? |

G&P barrels are CW threaded just so you're aware.
Honestly I'd go with a VFC or Madbull barrel |

Most outer barrels "fit" VFC bodies, but you'll get a bit of rotational play. Might not be a big deal for you and you can actually fix that during installation.
I've had great success with 5KU barrels believe it or not. Madbull is an obvious alternative choice but my first choice would be a VFC OEM barrel...

I swapped my 14.5" VFC OEM for a madbull aluminum DD 16" lightweight profile. Only problem is that it's still a two-piece barrel. What a fuckin' mess, two-piece barrels. They never align just right and you need to loctite the two parts together to prevent them from wobbling.

I recommend one of Madbull's steel barrels. Heavy and solid

The finish on steel barrels is closer to the real steel, and the wear beautifuly, unlike the aluminum stuff
Also, depending on your rail system , you might want some barrel but shims, because different barrels can through off the alignment of your rail which may cause barrel wouble

ARGH.
Where do you measure an outer barrel to determine what size it is? I just picked up a 13.5" rail. What outer barrel length would I need (and inner barrel) to just pass the end of the rail? Last edited by chaz; January 23rd, 2015 at 20:10.. |

Just get the m4 barrel, it's 14.5 inches and you need a 363mm inner barrel
It will clear the rail by an inch but you can still mount a search suppressor to the muzzle brake

Mounting a Noveske sound amp. to the front. Was hoping it would fit slightly inside the rail but it doesn't. Will pick up a 14.5" rail and 363 barrel!
