Problems installing Hephaestus steel trigger assembly for WE-AK

So I broke the hammer on my WE/AKS74u

I figured there were two solutions:

RA-Tech with a shoddy selector lever or Hephaestus (expecting it to be godly, I don't know what made me think that?) I bought the latter, being cheaper and advertized as a drop in fit.

part (87) did not engage well with the hammer (85) and was causing the hammer to drop before the bolt closed.

I faced the engagement point of (87) with the hammer and got it to hold the hammer back when out of battery with the trigger depressed.

but its wonky and fires in 3-10 shot bursts until it jams with the hammer down.

there is no friction in the action to cause it to fail. I think its a trigger box issue.

anyone install one of these? any problems along the way? I don't want to go file and dremel crazy till I know what I'm doing.

Hi. I've installed the Hephaestus set also. Everything fit perfectly for me. I do however have the issue the gun firing in full auto in semi mode. This happens only when i pull the trigger slowly. Everything looks ok with the trigger set, except as with you part 87. This doesn't spring back , I might swap it out for the original.

I also have installed the RA-Tech recoil buffer kit and also the FG Airsoft High Speed buffer. Ive noticed the usual crack in the trigger bix which may also be compounding the problem.

Cheers, P.

Hi, thanks for the tip but I think I had enough time to mull over it and come to a solution.

If you had waited three more days to post, this thread would have been a year old when you necro'ed it.

Are you related to "Quenny the Troll" http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=97466 by any chance?
