what is the Canadian age restiction for airsoft?
Hi, I am new to airsoft and I am only 15. Yes I know that is pretty young but I am a responsible person I do no go into the streets firing my airsoft gun like a idiot. But that is irreverent to my question. Like I said I recently started getting into airsoft a few of my friends own some guns and I was just surfing google for any airsoft fields in my area but then I came across a discussion about airsoft age requirements. I thought it would be something similar to that of paintball, as long as your 14 with a guardian and you sign a waver you can play. But I saw that airsoft you must be 18 years of age to play or be 16+ with a guardian over 18. I am 15 almost turning 16, but I desperately want to play some airsoft and now hearing that discussion im not sure if I would be able to play as of now. Can I play or would I have to wait to be 16 to legally play?

As a rule 18; or the of majority is were you need to be.
In some locations players can join in at a younger age with restrictions. Like being accompanied at all times by a parent for example. You really need to either check with local fields for first hand advice.

Ask your local field/club/group.
Note Ontario is the only province with specific legislation regarding ownership. (It's 18+) Might as well check your local bylaws as well.

Where are you located? Like Danke said, different fields have different rules. It's not a federal or legal thing (as in, there's no "Canadian age restriction"), it's a per-field basis.
each field has their reasons for setting the limits - often revolving around insurance. |
