Box magazine for M14?
Hey guys, I have a G&G M14 EBR and i got thinking the other day, that it may make one scary ass looking machine gun so i got thinking, and I figured you guys would be the best to ask. Do you know if there's such a beast as a box magazine, preferably auto winding for the M14? Or failing that, is there a way that i could take one of the box mags for say a M249 and jerry rig it onto the base of the hop up?
Once again, just a shot in the dark here, don't know if it'll work, but if we come up with something and it works, it'll be the baddest ass of machine guns, especially when we mount it to a jeep |

None exist for the airsoft market yet.
But you could rig a hicap and a box similar to this to work: http://www.airsplat.com/Images/ER-M4-BOXMAG.jpg |

so if I were to take a hi cap that i already have, how hard would it be per se to just kinda rig the top of it where it meets the gun to say a different box mag?
cuz i was thinking more like this http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=7230 do you think that's doable? |

I personally think you would be bastardizing a perfectly good M14.
You'd have a stupidly hard time lining up the feeding mechanism and making the mag lock in the gun with that mag. You'd be better off using a M16, G36 or AK style drum/double drum/box mag and then you'd only have to modify the top of the mag. That might actually be easier because the shell of the m14 mag could fit overtop the feeding part of your mega hicap. |

Strictly airsoft mechanically speaking, also absurd. A gun who's real steel counterpart has no capability what so ever of being an LMG, and who's airsoft counterpart is a massive pain in the ass to work on. It's just fundamentally not a good idea. |

I think a box mag looks stupid
But if u want increased ammo limit go with the hero arms sound activated 1000rd mag http://indoairsoft.itrademarket.com/342745 |

to clarify, i dont want the dumb looking round mag, i want a box that hangs off the side like a LMG, and the reason i dont use an AR platform or something like that, is because i dont have one
also practicality? its gonna be a roof turret on a vehicle so im not running with it, almost strictly fear factor |

and its an EBR not a wood/synthetic stock
also for the COD comments, im in the forces, i play airsoft to have fun but i get my realism with the real army so if you dont understand that, i get that but this is a fun side project i want to do, regardless of whether or not you think its a spacegun from a game |

You understand that SAWs that have the box to the side are belt-fed. That is the whole reason. And the place where you connect your BB feed tube is also to the side (where the belt would enter the real one).
If you want to put something on a turret, at least put something decent. a M240 or MK43 would work fine. And it already has a box mag. |

And if it's only ever a vehicle mounted gun, since you'd sacrifice your M14 to that purpose anyway, you could afford to have a cheaper 249 like an A&K or echo1 up there, and as much as I dislike echo1 and A&K and CA, I'd much rather service a 249 as an LMG than an M14.
