How to convert M4 aeg to gbb?

I have an ICS M4A1 AEG and I am looking into doing some conversion. I saw some conversion kits but I'm not too sure if they fit in an ICS M4 (I looked at the GHK conversion kit)

Is it even possible to do a conversion on an ICS m4? If it is, what do I need?

I have the GHK conversion kits in my shop and I don't think they would work with ICS without some mods. I would suggest you purchase a metal body or a beater AEG to experiment with.

So get a new body, but keep the barrel and stock? I'm wondering if it such am overhaul would it be better to just get a new gbb instead of converting.

Probably best to get a new gbbr

^+1.

You should use the AEG for winter/back up, or sell it.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but:

With conversions kit you will get all the downs of the GBBR and none of the Ups;

No or ridiculously low blowback, expensive mags, cool down, etc

You're better with buying a GBBR IMHO

It would be cheaper and less of a headache to get a GBBR to start with. If conversions is what you must have with that ICS body, get a Polarstar!

Nope, you would need to machine a custom "mechbox" frame to house the piston system/solenoids and electronics.

IF you want to get a conversion that much, get something that runs on HPA (P*).

Or buy a GBBR instead.

Either way, if you have to ask if possible, it means you don't have the skills/competence/knowledge required to convert an ICS M4 to GBBR.

Huh? Nope what? That's what I already said. Start with a GBBR or dump a polarstar in the ICS receiver.

Nope that.

P* won't "drop" in an ICS receiver.

The ICS mechboxes are not "TM" standard.
The gears and piston are pushed a bit forward and positioned a bit different.
The trigger blocks are not compatible without modification because of that too.

The ICS receivers are almost 1" longer than "standard" M4s.

Hence the Nope, won't drop in unless you machine a new lower section (to replace the "TM standard" P* lower section (that houses the electronics and trigger/selector components).
