I have to ask Hectic. How do you wax the inside of a TB barrel. I run them in each of my gun and if that prolongs thier life I'm game. Unless of coarse this is like the proverbial "bucket of steam". Just had to ask?

I think what he means is that it's a cleaner wax - these types of waxes contain an abrasive which basically polish out the barrel.
Essentially you're bore-lapping the barrel - extreme care should be done when doing this as any sort of twisting motion will impart undesired cuts in the barrel - leading to spin deviations. Also, this should ONLY be done on a stainless, or brass uncoated barrel as this process will begin to remove any sort of coating the barrel had on the inside. A good barrel should be relatively maintenance-free, I typically just use a piece of lint-free cloth attached to my cleaning rod and pass it through a few times after 3-4 games of action. Prometheus barrels are SUPPOSED to have better bore consistency than others, but without a good bore consistency gauge, nobody knows for sure. Maybe we're all just paying for the name. I might get an Angry gun barrel and test it out, but differences in batch-to-batch tolerances would actually mean that I would have to have a large enough pool to conclusively say that Angry Gun is comparable to Prometheus. I've had pretty good success with Madbull barrels but they have a limited lifetime as I've seen the accuracy decrease after prolonged use due to the coating wearing out over time. For the price they're pretty good. Last edited by Stealth; May 2nd, 2013 at 11:00.. |

I ended up going the Madbull way. I am not a frequent player.
I took a couple test shots and already noticed a HUGE difference, so I am happy. |

I am pretty sure their "Coating" is just a hard anodize added. It will do the trick but yes, will wear out from extensive use.

Two of my guns use Prometheus, another uses a Madbull Black Python. I can say without doubt that Prometheus gives much better accuracy past 15m, and marginally better accuracy below that.

I use mothers california gold car wax (no its not abbrasive like a buffing compound) its hard to explain the feeling if you wax your car with it. Baisically it makes the paint feel like glass and slick like it has a coating of lube on it. And it fills in all the lil knicks and swirlmrks

Apparently Prometheus barrels really are the best in terms of consistency. (Angry Gun wasn't in this test)
I found this thing online, it might be out of date. The tester states an ISO9001 certified machine was used. It's all in German so if someone is fluent in German and can make better sense of this stuff, please do share! http://www.madbullairsoft.com/images...l%20Report.pdf Durchmesser absolut - Absolute Diametre Schwankungen vom innendurchmesser - Fluctuations in Diametre Mad Bull V2 Diametre: 6.016mm Fluctuation: 0.004mm Prometheus Diametre: 6.036mm Fluctuation: 0.001mm PDI Diametre: 6.021mm Fluctuation: 0.002mm You can read the rest yourself.
