[Help] Identify this unknown AK !
Okay, short and sweet. I need to know what is the model of this, and the brand it could be.
From what I know, it looks like a Beta Spetsnaz AK74? It's a mix of metal and plastic. The upper and flash hider is definitely metal, for the rest I don't know? I'm too dumb for this :P. The previous owner busted it, and I offered 20 bucks for shits and giggles (and to tinker on it). When I'll know what I have, I'll start asking question on how to fix it. Thanks!! The trades read : CAL. 6mm BB ! Warning: NOT A TOY, FOR 18 YEARS AND UP BEFORE USING, READ OWNER'S MANUAL MADE IN CHINA Selector Switch. Sliding the handle reveals the hop-up adjustment. The little square selector goes back and forth. The bottom. The stock attachment, partially broken. Ni-Cd Battery | 8.4V SC1800mAh Battery compartment. |

After looking at a lot of google pictures, the main differences with my AEG and all the versions on the net are the sling hook (Circular raiser compared to nothing on nearly every AK) and the top of the dust cover (mine doesn't have that extra bit that is above the trades).

I'm keeping it for now, if only to test things on it.
Disassembling the weapon (not the gearbox yet) shows that something is stripped in the gearbox, preventing any compression of the piston. Since the tappet plate is making the nozzle move back forwards and backwards, I'd say the piston is stripped. Does that even make sense? I'd also say it's a JG, but a variation that I can no longer find on the internet. |

Update!
The stock was hard to remove, but appears to be there from the beginning, meaning not attached afterwards. It was screwed on the metal part that was hanging. You can see the side tabs (held by two screws) that have broken, and the gravity was pulling the whole assembly down. Pics are not top quality, but the dslr helps a lot. EDIT : I opened the gearbox, seems like the piston is stripped, looks like making this gun functional will be somewhat easy, if I can close the gearbox without breaking it. God this thing is complicated! Last edited by K3vX; April 14th, 2013 at 21:26.. |
