Mp5k hand guard mod
For a while now I've had an idea to cut off the vertical grip that is apart of the mp5k hand guard. Why? Because I do not use it. I hold the mp5k on the mag well with my thumb on the mag release. And with gloves on, the vert grip rubs against my hand. Very annoying.
Only issue is I'm not sure how to go about cutting it off and covering the hole. I googled around and someone actually did this to their real steel version. I think it looks great. It looks like they applied some sort of molding to the hole. Does anyone know just what kind of molding or material I can use to make my grip look as good as this? Here is a link with pictures. http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-nfa-ta...ndguard-2.html

They likely used a two part epoxy for that grip. And with that, you don't really have to paint over it to get it to match the color, it turns out dark after mixing and curing.

all that work for something a patch of grip tape would do.

Use a dremel and cut it off, put a piece of tape over the inside of the hole and fill with apoxy then paint.
