JG Mk36 (G36) 608 comments?
Does anyone have anything good, bad, or otherwise to say about the Jing Gong Mk36 (G36) AEG? Are they compatible with most available parts? How are the mags? Are additional mags readily available?
Thank you for your 2 cents

It's a TM clone, but I think the hop up might be different. I never changed it so I'm not sure. Mags are easy to find. Mine worked flawlessly for a few years, then I sold it and bought a CA. My only complaint is that the plastic is shiny.

Google tells me that the hop-up unit is compatible with TM, so no worries, unless I am wrong. I own the rifle and everything I know is TM compatible, too.
The mags for G36 are available, but big and cumbersome vs M4 mags. They are less available than said M4 mags too. If you want, magpul makes a good PMAG for the g36, and they feed well with my JG G36c. The only problem is ordering mags from overseas, since they often feature fake cartridges in the mag. |

I have one right here.
Really great rifle. It uses a standard V3 mechbox, with 6mm bushings. The stock ones are nylon, you will have to change that. The hop-up unit is proprietary, as well as the magwell. It still uses standard barrel and rubber. The stock is the one of the G36C, so it looks a bit funky as it's too short compared to the rest of the gun. Other than that, everything is nice. For a 150$ rifle, it's a damn good deal. |

CYMA? Who would buy a CYMA G36... The CA is good, but expensive in Canada. It's not glossy like other makers, looks great and feels great. I'd never leave a CA gun stock though.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions. That will mean that M4 magwell converters will not work on the JG G36 |

echo1 MTCs are JG rebrands. magwell conversion will work... the only brand they don't work without modification to my knowledge are SRCs because their hopup is some weird design.
As far as I know the only different non TM conforming part on the JGg36 is the nozzle which is a bit longer than normal.

Right, google failed me on this case. However, it seems that the incompatibility is caused by the magwell feed port. TM Magwell : JG Magwell : Since the JG unit already has the feed port forward like so: So, theoretically, you could swap both the magwell and the hop up unit for TM-spec parts. Anyone can confirm this? |

Yes, but you can also simply cut the feed tube on the new magwell flush with the top surface.
The JG hop-up is superior in design, but you have to remove the barrel front section to take the mechbox out. It's exactly the same as upgrading to a one-piece hopup on an M4 VS the two parts design of Marui. The nozzle is exactly the same lenght. Please, people, if you don't have FIRST HAND experience, why do you keep posting? to OP, if you need any info, send me a PM. Mine is appart at the moment waiting for an heart transplant, so I don't mind checking a few stuff |
