Buying Online From Forest City Surplus?
I was just browsing their site today, and I noticed they've got a really good sale on the G&G G98. I've been wanting a bolt-action gas gun for a while now, and even though the G98 isn't quite what I had in mind (no bloody iron sights, long barrel), I'm thinking I could improvise by mounting a mini red dot on the scope mount. My question is what kind of reputation do FCS have for online sales? I'd like to know what I might be getting into here.

g96....
when you said 98...I thought it was gonna be a K98 Mauser...bolt action WW2 rifle.. would be silly to mount a red dot on it...lol

Oh, crap, no. I wish it was a K98k. But those are about $450 in the States, and more like $500 or more in Canada, not to mention the exceptionally limited availability.

There's actually a fair few kicking around the AV retailers.. Wink wink nudge nudge
... And for cheaper than that too!

Careful if you buy a kwa pistol from them....they are all marked up about $50 more than Revolution which sucks because I live about 10 min away from FCS.

Eh, only verifier in the province is in St. John's, which is about five hours away. Don't have the funds or the time to go out again until probably...April or May. Totally slipped my mind or I would've looked at doing it last month when I was out.

Honestly, on these days you don't even need to be av'd to get great deals. Most of whom are av retailers have already put up a website, and publicly advertise on this forums.

I've ordered at least 8 times from them online (not airsoft though) and always made out well. Shipping was a little high from time to time in my opinion but I've never had an issue. Prompt shipping and never had a reason for a return. I've bought airsoft from them but did so in person. I like the store a lot.

Stay away!!!
I'm not sure how their walk in store is, but their online store let me down big time! They had a sale on Ares m14 ebr rifles a few weeks ago, and for $299, it was hard to beat that price! The online countdown of remaining stock had said 3 left for a couple days, and after realizing they were going fast, I placed my order for one. I got confirmation of the order shortly after, as well as an estimated delivery date. ( 5 days ) I heard nothing from them until the day I wad supposed to receive the rifle, where I got an e-mail saying that they ran out of stock, and that my money was refunded. I sent them an e-mail asking why this happened, but recieved a response pretty much saying" we ran out at some point, them's the breaks... " I have never seen such a lack of disregard for an online store as this one! Disappointment all around with their site management, as well as their horrible customer service. Look elsewhere for your online airsoft purchases!!!! These guys are very unprofessional!

Well, to hell with that, AirsoftDepot got in some Dboys K98s and I've got one ordered. No weird red dots, no questions about how reliable the site is. And no tax on the day I ordered it, even better!

They are fucking shit! Same thing happened to me. After reading vapor420's post I made sure and called asking if they had the Galil I wanted in stock. They responded saying they had 4 laying around, so I placed my order. Guess what, two days later they email me saying the were out....
Their online store is a joke, I will never order anything from them again.
