L96 grease
Hi guys,
What would you recommend to use as grease for winter time in my L96 (spring, BA) I did a test this week and with standard grease, it is very hard to move the bolt back. Thanks |

Try Superlube, it's worked great for everything I've used it for so far. Not specifically for cold temps but it's worth a shot. If the grease you're using is too viscous try adding a drop or two of lightweight silicone oil.

+1 for superlube! But make sure you only use a THIN coat of the stuff. Adding too much will just attract dirt and make a gooey mess.

Dow Corning DC-4 - Electrical Insulating Compound
Its a dielectric silicone that is moisture resistant and the viscosity will not change with the temperature (unless extreme) and will not bloat or destroy your seals. You want something thick that wont make its way into your hopup chamber. I use it on my vsr-10 and AEGs all year round. Its used a lot on aircraft, but a quick google search finds plenty of sources. Its about $15 for about a 5oz tube which will last a looong time. |
