Need some detail on this part on a TM Glock 17
Anyone could release more detail on that tiny spring tab? What the correct position when the safety is on or off? Is there a way to take that piece from the inner slide? I am stuck with that due to the wrong position of that part, because I just found the spring set to always stick out because of that part when sliding the upper body in.. Any solution to correctly adjust that in order to fit the spring set in? Thanks! Last edited by dude123; December 5th, 2012 at 03:24.. |

That spring is what holds your safety and slide lock in place. Without it, your safety will move around and it will keep turning the safety on, disengaging the trigger group..
Also, this spring is needed to keep for your slide lock to function. Without it, the slide lock will just float around and won't lock your hop up unit. It NEEDS to stick out because the slide lock needs to be able to lock your slide so that when the gun cycles, the slide won't fall off. You can take it off. It's held in by a pin (it's the first hole to the left). Push the pin out and the spring just falls out. But I wouldn't recommend it though....

Could you show me how it should be correctly placed? Without sticking the bottom out or staying flat and parallel with the inner slide? Pictures would be good! |

There's only one way for that spring to be installed.
The side where there's bends should be the part that faces the safety. THere's a notch on the safety for it to fit onto. Jiggle the safety around so that you get it to sit properly. The flat part sits beneath the slide lock. It only fits there and not anywhere else. The spring ends shouldn't face down like how you pictured it. It should be parallel to the chasis. That spring doesn't stick out when you attach your slide because it is covered by the slide lock. You're having difficulty attaching the slide because the slide lock is getting in the way like it SHOULD do. Hold your slide lock down while putting the slide back on....

I made this video a while back. The spring needs to be parallel with the slide. You can try installing it with the Glock pointing into the air, that will allow the spring to lean into the frame. Or you can do it like me in the video and slide it from back to front.
