KJW P226 5shot before no gaz???
I just bought a KJW P226 full metal Blowback.
To show you what happens : KJW P226 Mag Problem - YouTube Thinks I saw : -The mag and the gun itself turn really cold after shoot -I feel a lot of gaz was lost every shoot -I tryed an other mag who work perfecly on an other KJW P226 and there is the same problem on my new P226. So it's not the mag the problem. I disassemble ALL the pistol today to check the hammer and other pieces, all were looking good, no crack. I don't know where it can be the problem and i'm not the best with GBB so...I need your help ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Salut tous, je viens d'acheter un KJW P226 full métal blowback. |

Could just be that the mag leaks, it's not uncommon for even brand new to mags to leak. There are guides available on ASC on how to seal your leaky mags.

Does your tank have gas in it? If your can of gas is really low you'll only get a few shot out of it. Do you have another mag to test with?

If it's getting really cold after only 5 shots and then running out of gas it may be venting too much gas with each shot. Lubricate everything, and work it all to make sure the lubricant penetrates everywhere it needs to go. Having said that, it sounds like a problem with the mag. Make sure the seals are lubricated and the valve is functioning properly. Like Kozzie said, sometimes they just don't. It frosts me when an expensive mag fails right out of the box, but almost every problem has a solution. There are tons of ideas on what to try online. Work some Goggle-fu and you should find your answers.

you probably have a small crack in the loading nozzle, or the always tricky floating valve that sits in the loading nozzle may have cracked or jammed on the spring inside.

Second vote for cracked nozzle or broken internals.

-The tant of gaz is brand new (and just to be sure I tried an othe ont)
-I tried to an other mag and it do the same problem (and the other mag work great ont other p226). So for now I lubricate all (and A LOT) and I will see what happens |

Sounds like you have a shitty seal with your piston head. Check it, lube it, see how well it seals; consider getting an upgraded one (Marui will fit), like a Dyna piston head (NineBall). If it looks like its not really sealing much and you want to test it, wrap some PTFE teflon (plumbing) tape around the o-ring (IIRC on the KJW its a hard rubber washer) on the piston head.

ok thanks Drake I'll try it!!!
But I re-test it this morning and it was better then other days (maybe due to ALL the lube I put inside). But I was abble to shoot about 24 shot (but after 15 the FPS drop a lot). I tryed again and full the mag (count about 10 sec) and I was abble to shoot 24 shot without problem. Soooo drake I think you have the point, I'll try the teflon to be sure it's the problem. (Don't know if it's normal but when I look the inside (where is the hop-up and the seal for the gaz), half of the space in the "gaz hole" is take by something look like the hop-up rubber (blue). Finally, neebie question : For a full metal GBB, I know I want to shoot silicone oil where are seal and o-ring, but do I have to put greace (on slide for example) of juste silicone oil will do the job?? Thanks a lot guys for your help!! |

If it's stock...and your gas tank is full...and you're filling your mag up properly...your nozzle is freely moving back and forth, etc...
Try holding the bottom of the mag up with your other hand while you're shooting. If you're all of a sudden getting a lot less gas blow by (which makes everything really cold) and you're getting a lot more crisper shots, then the problem is that your mags are sitting too low in that gun. Happens with guns with a lot of slop (KJW 226 is a good one for that) and flat top seal mags. If that's the culprit there's only three "fixes" and then you're better off junking the gun. 1. Replace the nozzle with a different brand...some might seal better (trial and error), but none of them might make a difference if the gap is too large. 2. Shim the top seal of each of your mags. Cut out a "gasket" and place it under your seal...pop bottle plastic works pretty good. 3. Shim the BBU of your pistol...sometimes a layer of electrical tape (or pop bottle/can material) will set it far enough down to seal things up. However...you might run into issues with it cycling properly if it's shimmed too far down. (e-luder? just posted something about shimming the BBU of his glock...similar concept) For lubrication...if you are adding silicone oil to your gas then don't worry about lubing the gun. It'll get a bit of oil everywhere by firing it. A little grease on the rails won't hurt...but it traps dirt/grime. The only issue with lubing the crap out of everything continuously is that you'll end up with oil on your BBs and hopup rubber. If your hopup rubber swells too much you'll get jams, wild shots, your nozzle with stick/etc... Last edited by m102404; September 21st, 2012 at 11:21.. |

I was able to shoot 30 shot so I'll try to do spacer with electrictape to shim it. |

Glad to hear that it's narrowed down a bit...best of luck.
Although I don't think it's usually much of an issue with the KJW 226 you might want to take your mag catch out and look at it. If the corner that holds the magazine is worn (the plastic ones used to wear on glocks/etc...) then it'll let the magazines slip a bit and sit lower. Other than fiddling with the mags or the height of the BBU you can't fix much else with this issue. If the shims don't work (or create other cycling issues) then ditch the pistol and get another. If you're stuck on a 226 the TM 226 is just awesome (all plastic though) and the KWA 226 is very, very nice. A TM 226 in a guarder frame/slide kit is very nice. The WE (Socom?) 226 is very pretty and feels like a nice build...hopup shoots like crap though. |

I'am not looking to buy an other one, I have a TM MK23 SOCOM as principal (and no problem) pistol.
And I have too much rifle. So I just will fix the mags with some tape-spacer, not sure how to do but I'll see when it will be open, and I'll try the TM magazine who look likes better qualité. |
