m14 semi auto lock
So I have my m14 locked to semi auto. I did this by removing the connecting rod that goes around the back of the mechbox. How ever I have had an issue where the gun will "Jam" and the only way to clear the "jam" is by splitting the body apart and firing in full auto than putting it back together.
This ALWAYS seems to happen when I need the gun the most! Has anyone found a solution to this problem? They must have something because the Kiwis are required to run semi auto. I can't go to full auto unlocked because field rules, gun shoots over 400 and below 450 so is classed DMR. *My own rules, and yes I abide by them!* |

Is it because your battery is getting low? Does it ever happen with a fully charged known good batt?

by when it jams I mean something goes wrong in the actual trigger it self. The contacts are still being pushed apart by the cut off when you pull the trigger and the only way to get them to connect is to turn it to full auto *move the cut off lever manually*

Well maybe it's not functioning properly because all the proper parts aren't there.

slow your trigger pulling down and pull the trigger completely to the back before releasing? I believe you are experiencing this: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=25310

What's DonP up to these days? He had an option on his Trigger Master setup with a forward assist button for semi-only DMRs. If you got a lockup you could press the button and bump the piston till it released.

And yah that seems to be my problem. And now that i think about it when ever I need it is usually when I end up in a fire fight* I try not to get in those* and I am trying to fire a bit quicker than the normal sniper shot. I'll pay more attention to how I pull the trigger. Does anyone know any way I can lock the trigger though but have an easy solution to fix the lock up if it does happen... I guess thats kind of counter intuitive... I want it locked but with the key in the lock haha. |

You can wire a second pair of wires to the motor poles and battery with a small switch, and have that in the stock. That way, if you have a jam, you just have to open the stock and press the button.

hmm that could def work! gotta see if I have room in there, the cyma battery compartment is pretty small and I have a 9.6v nunchuck. Thanks for the idea.

The Cyma battery hole is actually VERY large. You can remove the two foam pads and fit a large 9.6v 5000mAh battery with space to spare in there.

one word MOSFET lock to semi only. Have a TM m14 with systema internals and the only way to get it to work right is to run a DMR MOSFET. also a big plus if you use the raptor one that pre cocks the bolt each trigger pull. Makes for one quick accurate instant trigger pull to boot.

you're looking for the holy grail known as cycle completion. There's a few mosfets out there that try to do it. What happens with semi seisure is that you are bumping the gun in a partial cycle so the mechanics stop spinning at the hardest part to turn over. Firing a spread in full auto unlocks it by surging the system to my understanding.
