Yeah Amos is our normal pusher...... I mean seller of Bastards. But the season has already started and he is sold out. (and waiting). I'll but more BB's once he has them in but I've already got $40 tied up waiting for the Bastard tracers to come in.

I have to echo what some of the others are saying about BB Bastard.
They're nice and all, but they're impossible to source in bulk for teams, there is no discount, and frankly, I think the company has serious issues in communicating with its customers. Firstly, they posted a hard promise a while back about how they would never run out of BBs again. Come season opening, everybody is out of Bastards in all sorts of sizes. The company is supposed to be a god damned BB company, our best BB company, and they're off galavanting with stupid night vision shit that nobody except a bunch of NVG nerds care about. Seriously? I politely suggested a modification to their packaging to allow for more convenient bulk BB sales -- a bottle format as is being used successfully by companies like Elite Force, and I got an extremely weak reply on this idea... after which the NVG conversation resumed. Bastards may be a quality product but supply issues, distraction with other types of products (goggles, NVG, etc), and such are really turning me away from the company. Our team has switched to bulk orders of ICS BBs, and they're working out great, and are probably the best bang-for-buck bulk option around for teams wanting to shoot lots of BIO BBs. That said, if BBBastard ever decides to be interested in selling BBs again and even considers better-value formats other than the current bags, I'll be right back supporting my Canadian brand.

Personally I prefer the bags, bottle impede my speedloaders. And there other products are to bring cheapo skirma softers up to a competitive level with milsim airsofters who have been kicking ass and taking names with real gear. As well as bringing in Quality Optics for GBBR owners. Yet how does that stall their BB sales? It doesn't they can only produce BBs so fast, and currently are likely back ordered. As for bulk sales just to you they do offer them, and if you don't like the bags as you where suggested before why don't you bottle them yourself if its that much better?

With regards to "only making BBs so fast", they made a rather showy promise regarding stock (also after a prolonged shortage in their product) and then proceeded to under-invest in their production capacity. Perhaps some of the capital they've spent on NVG or re-badging Chinese optics could have been spent on ramping up production capacity. They're the ones who bragged about orders for millions of BBs from large retailers... it's not like extra production capacity couldn't have gone somewhere. Simply put, no matter what awesome sauce they're cookin' up for dedicated milsim players, it doesn't change that they ran out of their primary product in a big public way twice in a row, with the second time coming after a claim that it wouldn't happen again. As for bulk sales, where? There are other brands that offer actual bulk in the sense that I can put it in a cart and have it delivered to my house. If there's some way to do that with Bastards, I'm listening. I'd love to give them a big order and stock up for the season.

You can look in the retail thread for a disclosure on the BBB supply issues, I won't belabour it here.
There are bulk discounts available, they depend on where you are in relation to our shipping location in Ontario and the side of your order, but it starts at $300 and up, then you start seeing discounts in your cart. There are also other programs that have discounts associated with them that people take advantage of. As for the other products we are carrying, those products don't interfere with making and selling BBs, those are products we've had many customers ask us to carry and also enable us to keep the company going during the off seasons by rounding out the store SKUs. It may look odd to you, but its revenue thats allow us to hire Derek as our first employee. Talk to us next time you want to do a bulk order, we're listening too. |
