Modifying a 8 Gram CO2 cartridge for external air?

I've seen a "dummy" 12g CO2 canister, that allowed you to plug in an external HPA source and use it via that way, haven't seen any 8G ones though.

I'm curious if it would be feasible to drill and tap an adapter into a spent canister and gas it up that way? A little DIY project.
Nothing crazy intense in terms of PSI, say ~120-130 at most.
I hear they are apparently full at ~800-something PSI from the factory.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advanced.

It is a spent unit with a regular 1/8" NTP hole on the side and one bottom.

You need an empty one, a drill and a tap. 1/8" NTP is the standard on paintball remote lines and most industrial pneumatic hoses running under 200psi.

Yup, that's what I was figuring.
Drill and tap into a spent casing, mod the mag as well of course.

Sounds like I am on track then.
Super, thanks!

Using spent 12/8 gram cartridges works fine.
Just use plenty of Teflon tape, and you'll be fine.

most of the 12g co2s i have seen are too thin wall steel to put threads in that will hold. they usually strip out as soon as you put the fitting in.

Hmm, perhaps some JB weld will fix that.
Might be a heck of a fight to get the fitting out if I ever need to, but at least it will be in snug!.. Hopefully.
