13:1 Gear set compatible wth standard ratio?

Recently i purchased a set of SHS high speed 13:1 gear set and the bevel gear was a lemon....
so i just want to ask if it will work if i throw in my old G&G standard ratio bevel gear to run with the other two high speed gears

thanks for the time =D

If you try it and it works, then it works. That's really all it takes. I have heard of people subbing in different bevels for the second generation lemon SHS bevels.

Can you help us identify who in Canada is carrying the lemon sets? Where did you buy these gears?

That retailer should be notified that SHS is aware of the issue and that those sets need to be sent back.

Hmm... shouldn't be doing that too much... but my main experience is with Guarder Torque, JG, TM EG 700/1000, and VFC motors. Is it possible it could be some coating coming off the magnets inside or something?

Typically there shouldn't be a noticeable smell coming from your motor. The only thing I would venture to guess is that it's your magnet burnishing with the comm and releasing dust. If the smell persists and you see a decrease in performance, replace the motor.

For future reference, most bevel gears are compatible with SHS gearsets. Just check proper engagement and clearance of gear teeth before installation.

On airsoftmechanics someone has posted the dimensions of the teeth which you can measure with calipers. I'm going to wait it out with other brands until the updated versions are out

I'll see if my existing bevel will work in that case when the proper bits come in. And put my calipers to good use :P
