iv got a echo 1 m4 im just wondering if when i want to get a new ris or grips or shit do i have to buy echo 1 upgrades or can i get other company...my battery is stored in the ris....and yes im new to airsoft

Welcome to airsoft. Your current Battery is stored in the RIS? Do you mean the handguard?
And yes you can use other airsoft parts, but more info like what exactly you are trying to add on to your gun as some parts wont fit on all guns. Or if your battery is handguard stored adding some RIS will leave you with no where to store unless you add a PEQ, buffer tube lipo or get a crane stock.
