G36c extended barrel
I've had my g36 for a little while now, and loving it I might add, but I want to give it a little more accuracy. What I want to do is put on a suppressor, and put in a tight bore barrel that extends all the way into the supressor, therefor giving it about 1.7x the barrel length. What I want to know is, will any barrel fit in any gun? Can I buy a G3 or M16 barrel and put it in my g36? Obviously I'll have to cut it down, but will it fit otherwise? Also, what would be the best for a full auto gun, 6.04 or 6.05? I only use airsoft elite and excel bb's, but I'm still paranoid about it jamming. Thanks.

Well in my G36 I have a 363mm KM TN tight bore barrel. ITs longer than the G36 so I also upgraded my cylinder so as not to have a shootdown effect.
If you go with a longer barrel yes any will fit just purchase the length you want and then purchasing a matching cylinder and install it. No worries. As for the 6.03 or 6.04 everyone has their own preferences and recommendations. Just purchase what is in your budget range and you will notice a bigger improvement on accuracy and consistency (just also relates to accuracy) and you will be very happy. |

Yeah im pretty much doing the same thing with my G36. I was told in a previous thread i started regarding this, that i would need a bore-up kit with type "0" cylinder($110?). Can also use a silent head set. Needs to be a vented piston head. Although i havnt tested... may be better off to just get a super tightbore of G36 length (247mm) if your on a budget. That would probably be more accurate than say an m16 length stock barrel (please correct me if im wrong here)

You can put up to a 509mm/M16 length barrel into any V2,3 or 6 AEG without getting a boreup kit. You'll just need a Type 0 or full cylinder, which is like $15.

Ok, awesome. Thanks for the help guys. So I guess a type 0 cylinder is a must. But what would be the difference between just adding a cylinder or adding a full bore up kit? Money isnt really an issue, so I could go with the full kit, but I dont really need to spend extra money either if I dont need to.

Bore-up kit further increases the volume of air pushed with each cycle. It's only needed for PSG-length or longer barrels. It also requires a VERY powerful spring (Systema recommends their M130) in order to cycle reliably. Unless you NEED the extra volume of air, don't get it.
