First gun, Cybergun AK47
Hey, I'm new to airsoft. A friend invited me to a game, I liked it so I'm thinking about jumping in.
I like the outdoors so I need a tough and reliable gun. The gun need to be AK style, realistic looking gun. Real metal and wood. I like to repair my stuff and customization seem like fun. I was looking at the Cybergun AK47 AIMS, I like the specs on paper. Anyone have experience with it? What about custom work? Thanks |

They are a solid beginner gun you just need to do a bit of work to them. Out of the box they shoot about 460fps with 0.2g bb's so you will need a spring change to get it under 400 so you can get into games. A metal AK-74 "birdcage" flashhider to replace the plastic "slant" style one is definitely worth it but it is optional.

no you need a AKM slant muzzle break because it is a AKM type rifle. The airsoft gun in question is a rebranded CYMA CM050. Some of the later models come with a steel receiver.

If you are emulating the Romanian Pusca Automata model 1986, Pmd.86 for short, a birdcage is the style you are looking for.

The CYMA metal AKs are actually decent. They're cheap guns and won't compare to RS or VFCs, but they are amongst the best entry-level guns on the market.

No but really, the CYMA AIMS is a copy of the VFC AIMS. It's has a steel receiver and wood furniture. It's a solid, heavy gun. |

We all know that the Type 56 is the "real" AK47

Huh, AK's really can do everything. On topic, yeah. The CYMA AIMS will do great as a starter, especially for the price. But keep in mind, it is considered a lower end gun, the internals may not be reliable. However, V3's are easier to work on than a stoned hooker so having the thing serviced won't be an issue at all. Its not full steel, the rear sight block, outer barrel, front sight and gas block are a pot metal of sorts. If you're looking to full-steel it, it wouldn't be difficult to order those parts from LCT and slap them on, as they all fit on through pinning, like the real deal.
