Maybe one of you can help :D
Hey all, i just acquired a full metal SRC 416, and well, i took it apart (properly) and found that the tabs are broken..
i was just wondering if if that will change anything majorly in the use of the 416, i havent gamed it yet, havent even shot it as i dont have a battery.....joys of using a bolt action now i know it sounds like a stupid question and it is, but i need re-assurence. second question, i heard SRC is TM compatible, this is what i want to do, and need to know if i can i would like to get a second M4 (in the process of getting s full metal, tm compatible m4) and be able to switch the uppers, and stick to one lower, and one gear box, and so on..........if you need to know why i wanna do this, well, i got a real steel 416 upper on an AR lower, and i want the same for airsoft :P (plus my Pmags seem to work better in an AR then the stupid 416 :P ) Also, Havent gotten a chance to get AV'd, i would rly like to soon tho, as i am ovr 18, other then probably this forum, any idea where i can get a metal M4 lower for a fair price??? |

Since lowers are restricted from importing, and short of buying another whole rifle, the AV'ed retailers and classifieds are your best bet.
Best get on getting AV'ed. |

SRC is for the most part TM compatible. As for finding a seperate lower once your AV'd you'll have acess to the classifieds where they usually pop up for sale on a regular basis. Hurry up and get your AV status while saving your money.

The HK416 is a bit different than your average AR-15, the upper is higher and needs to be matched to the correct front. I think you can switch uppers and lowers though, just as long as you stay with the same interface system (ie: you can't mix TM based bodies with ICS based bodies.)
There are lowers from time to time in the classifieds, but it usually comes as a complete metal body. Worst case, buy the whole thing, sell the upper. Depending on the brand you go for, you're looking at 150-300. |

If you can make it out there, Airsoft Gear in Richmond (Across the street from City Hall) can do AV for you and there's lots of cool stuff there too.
Ask for Optix.
