Possibilities with Automotive plastic dye?

So,

Getting some synthetic AK stock bits in a trade (Hooray!) However, the stock (Allthough painted) is OD underneath, the rest is naturally black.

Gonna get rid of the paint, on that note i've been left curious. I've been working at a dealership as a parts assistant for the past couple years, ordered and ran through automotive dye quite a bit, yet i've never really tried it out.

From what i've read on the instructions is that its just to restore faded plastic (Black bumpers and the such) to its matte black shade.

Now, the kit i'm getting (I'm assuming) is a King Arms AK74M 'stock', not sure of the type of plastic used, but has anyone had direct experience using this stuff? Would you think it'd be powerful enough to change the green to a nice flat black?

I'm trying to avoid using krylon paint, since it inevitably ends up rubbing or scratching off and looking like ass when you're trying to keep the rest of the guns presentation in check and I really dislike the sticky feel you get for the first while.

Anyway, any input is appreciated. I know I could easily just buy the stuff and find out but i'm just after experiences before I put money on the stuff.

Thanks!
