Tokyo Marui G36K

Hi every body!

I'm completly newbee with airsoft. Sorry if my question is boring.

I have read many threads but there is so much opinions and technical details... I'm not sure to understand.

I'm interested in a Tokyo Marui G36K (the one with a recoil effect). I personnally own a real H&K Sl8 (converted to a G36) and a G36K seem a good airsoft choice for me.

Some poeple think TM are average guns and other think they are Pro. Many people seem decived by the TMG36K FPS and said it will be expensive to upgrade.

What kind of mecanical upgrade I will have to put in the gun to make it better or competitive?

For the exterior I will have no need for metalic parts (the original gun is in plastic...)

Thank you for your help and I appologize for my bad english.

Best regards

You don't need to change anything to make a TM "competitive". They're great guns stock.
If you want to increase the FPS a bit, you just add a $15 spring.

I have look over many dealers websites, but Tokyo Marui products seem difficult to find... Are they legal in Canada?

You really should consider the ARES/Umared G36 line.

They are easier to find.

And already offer great performance... and they have the blow back effect.

They use a standard (though slightly modified) mechbox and internals, unline TM's and everything is compatible, so you can upgrade anything you want at any time.

I personally find that TM is way behind in airsoft AEG for about 2 years. Even most of the clones are now better quality and build.

i just grabbed a ca g36 recently and love it, doesnt have the split ares gearbox, but the externals are beautiful because ca uses a fiber body

really durable, no creaks, and the stock is rock solid

ares and classic army g36 bodies are comparable, i would say i actually like the ares one better. it also has the quick change spring and blow-back where as the classic army doesnt ( unless you get one of the new ones that have blow back but i havent seen those on the canadian market yet.)

hang on if he wants to go to like a 150% spring he should consider doing bushings and possibly a spring guide. Those nylon bushings wont last long on a heavier spring.

Buddy here has a TM g36c and it shoots wonderfully on a 150% spring, systema bushings, PDI spring guide, and a PDI purple hop up. add a "sniper" stock that fits a 4000mah battery and you're good for the day.

tm is not really behind in aegs. their recoil shock line is state of the art.

a tm will shoot 280-290 stock. put a m105 spring in for 330-345 performance. this will allow you to keep the nylon bushings and spring guide. this setup should last for 30-50 thousand shots. the change the bushings.

ok, i have to write something like this every so often when people say how the clones are better. here is what you get when you buy a tm - you get pieces that fit properly. for tolerances the clones are close, but the tms are closer.
