KJW M1911a1 using TM mag's

Hey,
I have recently found that my KJ mag is not working very well (Only getting 10 -15 shots) so I was wondering if the TM mag would fit. Also are TM mag's better (as in more shots) than the KJ mag?

Thanks Geoff

Yeah they are pretty finicky. I think it is a matter of getting a good seal on the fill valve with your propane adapter.

I use a plastic adapter, and really mash it into the fill valve hard, and hold it for 5-6 seconds instead of the recommened 4.

TM mags are generally best, but I can't verify their compatibility with the KJW 1911s.

KJW is supposed to be completely compatible with TM, but you have to make sure you get the right type of magazine. -sorry-

no... just no...

only WE mags are 15 round
TM MEU mags for MEU/1911 are 28 round, same as hicapa mags just single stack instead of double stack, but there are also 31 round hicapa mags that are slightly longer, but for single stack mags they are anywhere from 23-28 rounds depending on the brand

True that, nooblord. I do have to say that the old KJW M1911's had 15 round single stack mags - these are similar to the WE's, though I'm not sure if they are compatible or not. Since the newer generations KJW has been turning out are closer TM clones, the current and more recent generations of 1911's have TM-type mags (slim, double stack mags)... I can't verify or not if they fit in KJW's for you, though.

I hope you understand the terminology there?

I can verify that Tokyo Marui mags fit in KJW 1911s and Hi-Capas as I have both TM and KJW models of the guns.

I know that the KJW MEU and the TM MEU mags are different sizes (same system though). The KJW are slightly thicker then the TM's.

not entirely compatible...

i bought some tm hi-cappa mags thinking that they will fit and the fit and finish are nearly identical,**BUT** the tab in the gun that seats the mag is slightly longer for the "tm" mag to properly slide up into place, it's just a couple of millimeters in difference to its hard to tell by a single glance.. be causious and ask questions to your retailer if they are 100% compatible with your gun and model.

mags - 2x 31 round TM brand
gun- KJW 1911 hi-cappa

I use TM Mags in my KJW 1911PD (which is a TM Hi-Capa clone)

So, the answer is yes.
