No, AEG barrels and GBB barrels are totally different. If you had access to a mill or metal working tools, you could modify the hop up section, but outside of that, let's just say no.

Are you sure? Because I read on another forum that it actually is compatible...
Then how about a G36C inner barrel? This one seems to be also compatible but I'm not entirely sure.

Really you should mention brand names and whether or not the guns you are listing are GBBs or not. AEG barrels won't work in a GBB, but if you are talking about some MP5 gas gun, then it's possible (yet outside my experience).

As far as I know, you cannot use a AEG inner barrel without modification.

If you would be so kind to cite the original source of where you read you could perhaps we could clarify on that.

***complete brain fart on my part....mixed up PSG1 and VSR barrels...d'oh****

The cutouts on AEG inner barrels for the hopup rubber, and the cuts on the barrel to hold it into the hopup, are almost always (so far as I know...but I don't know everything) different when compared to GBB pistol barrels. And with any "rule" there's bound to be an exception.

I'm 100% certain that an AEG MP5 inner barrel is different and non-compatible with a TM Hicapa 5.1 inner barrel.

I'm 100% certain that an AEG G36 inner barrel can be used in an AEG MP5. In that the hopup rubber will fit and that assembly will fit in the MP5 hopup unit/chamber. Re. length, compression lengths, etc...those are different issues.

I'll state that, in general, most AEG inner barrels are interchangeable (i.e. they only differ in length).

If your question is:
Q. Can I stick a short Hicapa 5.1 barrel in my MP5?
...the answer is no

Q. What other barrel can I use for my MP5?
- any AEG inner barrel except for ones made for the VSR10

Q. Can I stick a MP5 and/or G36 barrel into my Hicapa 5.1?
...the answer is no
...if you want a longer inner barrel for your Hicapa 5.1 you can
1. Machine the cuts/notches yourself
2. Buy a VSR10 barrel and cut it down to the length you need
3. Buy a longer Hicapa barrel

d'oh...sorry, banged that off in a hurry and mixed them up. Yes, VSR10 barrels are the same as Hicapa 5.1 barrels.
