I took the leap (TK twist)

Okay, I ordered some stuff for my m14 and my bar-10.

M-14 Socom
509mm barrel (m14 socom, I think it might be a bit too long)
Systema Bucking
PCS nub
Scope mount

Bar-10
430mm barrel
firefly soft
sp110 (around 350-360 fps)
Barrel spacers

Here are what was upgraded when I bought it

Airsoft GI PE M170 Spring
Airsoft GI PE Reinforced Piston
Airsoft GI PE Reinforced Sear Set
Airsoft GI PE Reinforced Spring Guide
Airsoft GI PE 6.03mm Precision Inner Barrel

I want to get a 4x acog for it, or would I be better with a 2 or a 3x. I hear that the zooms beyond 3x are generally useless on a 3-9x40, and I need very good eye relief if I need to use this with a paintball mask.

I'm living on campus right now, so before/after tests will be difficult, but I will see what I can do. When I go home on the 15th, I may just swap barrels back and back again and do a quick test.

keep in mind it only works optimally under 340 FPS

Well, I was reading through all of the posts, and Illusion set the "acceptable fps" around 360, so I decided that was good enough for me. I could always go down a little bit more if the performance isn't good enough. I also realize that there isn't really a distinct line where the performance goes down drastically, but I just wanted a baseline, and I can work from there if any changes need to be made.

Thanks though

I'm running an TK twist at 350fps in my P90 for the past 2 years, works fine for what I need. As stated before though 360 fps is roughly the limit on those barrels.

I find the lower the better however, I had one of the first run masadas that couldnt break 270 FPS because of the hopup air leaks, and then I used .30s to boot, and that thing was a bloody laser beam, mind you a laser that went 80 feet, but a laser nonetheless

Well, getting a weaker spring isn't that hard, but I wanted to start somewhere in the middle, and hopefully find a good compromise.

Thanks for you guys' help :P

I stuck a 509mm TK twist barrel in my G36 that shoots sub 300 and I can easily fire with .20g the whole length of CQBPB outdoors which is what, help me out here guys, 100ft? Its the only internal upgrade I've done to my CA G36.

I have a crap gun shooting 270 that can hit a mansized target 8/10 times using .2s at 100feet(with very very very minimal arcing) , possibly providing how accurate it is at that length would be more helpful to him., since he is planning on sniping.

Well, I'm hoping to get to 80 yards or so with the upgrades I posted. The upgrades in it currently aren't laylax, but I'm hoping (fingers crossed). The bar-10 is sort of a "fun gun" as, I expect that the m14 will be able to do basically the same thing, but better :P.

On another note, I bought an acog 4x and a holosight clone off ebairsoft, and i'll let you guys know how it goes.

Well in contrast my CA M15A4 will shoot most of the length of CQBPB outdoors, you see obvious arching. My CA36 is able to suppress the 2nd floor hotel from the opposite end of the field quite accurately (I'm running it as an MG36). I can't be exactly sure how long CQB outdoors is (I'm thinking its at least 100ft) nor have I gauged the range of my CA36 because I haven't been able to take it out to a larger field.

Is the arching from lack of hop, or because it is moving too slowly?
