Tm hi capa 5.1 range
hello,
I would like to know if there is really a difference(velocity, range, accuracy) if I use a 7 inch 6.01 inner barrel instead of a 5 inch 6.01 one. thanks |

Yes.

Yes, it'll boost your FPS by around 30 or 40.

And if I get the same fps on both 7 inch barrel and the 5 inch one, how much the range will be affected?

You won't get the same FPS.
But in a theorical world where the FPS would be the same, you won't get any more range. You will however get a lot more shot-to-shot consistency and overall accuracy. |

ok thanks guys
I'll take a 5 inch precision barrel, upgrade it and use green to acheive the same fps as the 7 inch one.(to get the same range. After all I'm not using it for ipsc...) |

Also a 7 inch barrel will require a compensator, silencer or total lack of style.

Slow mo.

Unless you unload your wallet on upgrades, your gun will *not* achieve the same fps as a gun with a 7" barrel. I think its pretty much impossible to match a 7" barrel with an upgraded gun using a 5" barrel.

See my post. If he increases his barrel from a 5" to a 7", he WILL see a significant FPS jump.

The reason why a longer barrel gives you an FPS boost is because the gas has a longer time to expand and force the BB to accelerate. This works to a certain extent though, once the gas has all expanded it doesn't matter if you add in a longer barrel it will max out at a certain FPS after all the energy from the expansion of the gas has been transferred to the BB.
Also you will see an accuracy increase but it only works to a certain extent. If one barrel is kinked slightly it will affect your accuracy even if it's longer, so straightness is important which is why "ABC companys" 6.01 mm barrel might be crappy and super kinked and make your shots inconsistent but "Big brand names" 6.04 mm barrel which is straighter might give you better accuracy.

6.01 yields higher FPS than 6.03, but the latter achieves better accuracy. Of course, the diameter of the BBs used matters as well. |

Do you know what is the minimum length of the barrel for the gas to expand? |

The only way that you "fully expand" the gas is if you physically emptied the mag supply of gas... |

And what is the range of a hi capa 5.1 with a 5 inch 6.01 precision barrel?(using 20 grams bbs)
