I Have a Few Questions About Airsoft

I've been interested in playing airsoft for a while now but I don't know where to start. Does anyone know if there are any airsoft fields or teams within Kawartha Lakes, Ontario? Also can I legally play airsoft at 17 or do I have to wait another year? Finally, I'm planing on buying a VSR-10 sring sniper as my first rifle, is it any good?

You will get plenty of replies on the legalities, but suffice to say that it is better for your image to wait the year.

Besides, during that time you'll be able to visit fields, meet players, stock up on gear and so on.

Buying a spring sniper riffle, especially a cheap clone, is bad mojo for a first gun.

Ask politely at games and you'll be able to fondle just about any gun. That will help you find something you like.

Also, check this link for classified prices:

Two things, 1 - Get age verified(if your 18+). 2 - Don't get a sniper rifle as your first gun

Can't answer your question on age as I don't live in Ontario. But buying a sniper rifle for your first gun is a terrible terrible mistake. You won't be leet skeet sniper, you will be bored and pissed off that someone with an ak can shoot just as far as you and 200 times as many bb's.

It doesn't hurt to ask at 17, some may allow you others may not but at least your name gets out there and people know that you actually stayed the course and waited which gives you slightly more credibility.

Don't get a springer especially a sniper rifle unless you have played "stock class" paintball before (closest analogy I can get, either that or woodsball as a sniper with a pump action or something like that) or are actually willing to put a lot of effort, time, and money into becoming better and upgrading your stuff. It doesn't mean that you can't run a stock sniper rifle, it just means that you have to be smarter about your shots and engagement distance since you'll have the same range/accuracy/projectile speed but a slower rate of fire (basically how fast you can pull the bolt back to recock the rifle).
