DIY Hi-flow valves

Well I have a PDI tight bore coming along with the mags.. and a propane adapter..

Think that is enough? worth going for the hi flow? I plan on using .25s as its what i use for everything... maybe higher if it makes a big difference.. but my main goal is to be a silent side arm sniper type gun.. I play 100% out doors and shots are usually at a decent distance so not worried about pushing a bit more fps if its worth it.

And yes use 0.25g at the minimum.

is .28 optional or is it better to do .3?

So propane /tight bore normally vs with hi-flows? is it that big of a difference?

I've done this mod on a USP mag. It's quick and easy but I didn't notice any kind of performance increase. I forgot the chrono values (long since sold that pistol) but they weren't that different.

I recommend 0.28-0.40 for your pistol with that build. You want it to be accurate, you want a nice heavy BB. With the .40 people will think you are throwing rocks at them. Compromise with a price point that works for you.

Agreed. I run my KWA PTP M9 (340 fps with 0.20s) with nothing but 0.30 weight BBs, and the ballistics are amazing.

Is it a big differance in .28 to say .4 (i know there is, but whats the best compromise? from those who have tried various weights)

so whats the vertic, is it worth the hi-flow mod?

Also would you loose much range with a .3 or .36 compared to a .25?

My buddy who runs a Crossman c02 can get good range with .36 and .3 Been seeing .36 alot more since the local crew is running closer to 400fps with AEG so I would imagine that gbb would be the same.

You don't need .3 or heavier. But pistol ranges are closer engagements so what you lose in distance is negated by the fact your round will probably hit your target before it starts to drop too much. If you plan to engage AEG's at longer distances, stuck with .28's or .3's as it's a good compromise on range but maintans it's energy over more of that distance then a .25.

Ummmm....... nope. Doesn't work that way.

It's not worth doing the hiflow anything with the set up you are looking at. Just run 0.30g BBs and learn the ballistics of that set up (aka the way it shoots) and then tweak yourself to get hits at longer ranges (past 100ft). 0.36g will be too heavy for your set up, at least if you want range without having to compensate for elevation too much (ie. aim a foot above the head to hit the chest at 140ft).

Can't speak to the specific Mk23 pistol...never had one. I've recorded consistent +6/+7 fps gains with a modded stock valve in Hicapa's. You'll get ~+10fps with other dedicated hiflows. Either way they won't make your pistol blast through brick walls all of a sudden. No harm in doing it...but not spectacular jaw dropping returns. (worth it for free...sure, why not?)

Longer barrel...tighter bore...good, clean, consistent BBs...0.28/0.30g weights. That'll give the best bang for buck.

Depending on the pistol...stiffer floating valve/rocket spring...heavier valve/rocket...that'll support the longer barrel. Not entirely sure if it's worth it with a short barrel.

Longer knocker, stiffer hammer spring...that'll give a deeper push of the main knocker valve (= more gas/per shot).

But the BB has to still be in the barrel for all the extra gas to be of use....so tight bore, heavy BB, long barrel.

So with a tight bore, but stock length i will not be getting the full advantage and there willbe a slight fps increase but not much
