higher quality is always the better choice but JG isn't exactly like a kraken, you CAN (I do/have) run a JG stock for seasons, even on lipo. Though JG is always a gamble, 70% you get basically a TM, 25% you get a box of garbage and 5% you get a box of crap unless you happen to be a gundoc and can fix it yourself then no big.

If all you have is $300 now, just save your money and get a quality rifle. If you want to cheap out on the rifle you will regret it later down the road when you find yourself spending the value of the gun, if not more, in upgrades and replacements only finally say "fuck it" and get the higher end one. Why are you in such a rush that cant wait another month or two and get a Mercedez later instead of a Daewoo now?
An American telling Canadians airsoft is too expensive is like an obese rotund dude walking into a soup kitchen and saying hes too full for an entire bowl of soup and only wants soda crackers. Its just mean to us |

If you're in PA, then "The War Store" in NY is probably the place you should be looking at. It's one of the larger retailers on the East Coast that I know of.
With Airsoft GI, and Airsoft Extreme being the major ones on the West Coast.

Either you're going to have to take a ferry across the lake and go over the border into Canada and find a surplus shop (IL isn't really *that* far from Canada, neither is PA, the state the OP is from). OR you can order clone stuff from the asian retailers or something. Airsoftpark.com has clone CADPAT for $60 USD (shipped) for a set of BDU's or something (the quality is crappy but what are you expecting). I'm pretty sure that non AV'ed members can see the clothing and gear section so maybe try going there and checking out what people are selling as well.

Back to the OP:
I've had two different A&K guns with v2 boxes and I can't find much at fault with either one. The first was an SPR which saw about 3-4000 rounds before getting sold (still going I think) and the current is a short LR300 with about 1-2000 rounds down the pipe. They tend to shoot a little hot and have rather crappy hop-up buckings but otherwise they are a very decent gun. The surface finish is a little easy to scratch but internally I would put them at the forefront of all clones and certainly on par with the lower end of the Taiwan guns. -Grant |
