Thread Tools |
March 17th, 2010, 02:17 | #16 |
The casting is probably just off enough to not let the threads through, what I did is just file it down slightly with a triangle file then twisting it on slowly. U need to be careful of using the delta ring modification tool as I have seen a few people break the front part of there upper off using it. Just a bit of elbow grease and patients with a triangle file will do the trick.. or it has for me for the last 5 or so I've done.

If its the same trouble i had with my G&P reciever, their threads are imperial and normal aegs are metric. madbull makes a threads modification tool, I used that and it worked good for me.

I read from somewhere that G&P changed the threads on their recent receivers. I think it was 2 years ago that they started changing the threads.

What front end are you trying to put onto your gun? Simple solution can be to buy a G&P barrel nut delta ring combo.
I have the madbull barrel rethreader if you want to buy it I can help you out there too. G&P makes a barrel nut made for putting real front ends onto AEGs that could also be a possible solution. How old is your G&P uppers? They have made uppers with metric and imperial threading over the years and there are many different versions of their bodies. |
