Anyone have a PDI 6.01mm barrel in their AEG?

I ordered one from Redwolf and it arrived in a clear rectangular plastic package. I noticed in certain pictures that PDI barrels for AEGs should come with a metal tube to protect them, in addition to the plastic outer packaging. Mine only came with the plastic packaging.

I emailed Redwolf about this, but they did not reply. Did anyone else get a PDI AEG length barrel that did not come with a metal tube? I know for the PDI pistol length barrels they don't come with the metal tube, but online pictures suggest that AEG length ones do.

If the product you received is damaged contact RW for a refund or exchange.

Otherwise what's the problem?

There was a while when PDI was shipping their 01 barrels in stainless steel tubes for added protection. The idea was to identify the product as a "premium" and/or "elite" product.

Purchase rate for the product was low, because of the insane cost (they were easily over $100USD at the time), but I've noticed the price has gone down since they ditched the tubes.

So what? Where you planning on framing the stainless sleeve or something? You just throw it out after you take the barrel out so why does it matter? lol
If it makes you feel any better, premium prometheus barrels come with cardboard backing and a plastic cover.
