But yeah, according to the above, V3's are "statistically" proven to last longer 7 to 1.
....And don't tell me that this is because more players run Armorlites. There are just as many, if not more players running AKs (that and AUGs seem to be making a come back).
I just wish that these clone companies would at least manufacture mech boxes with comparable tolerances. Which is of course what the real reason behind this thread is.......

I guess we can't really use Wildcards experience as 100% accurate for the airsoft world. He's the exception here with the amount of abuse he puts them through. I mean he's not one to shy away from hammering on them (figure of speech) during play, testing, or putting in the wrong spring for that matter! hahahaha

Hey why not if we are comparing basic reliability design of mechbox function and form. I'm not an engineer nor am I a mechanic so alot of my experience with an AEG or GBB has come through trial and error, all those times when I break my shit its just for me to see where the breaking point or tolerance level these toys have so if I break them i break them then it gave me a reason to get another. I don't think there are more than a handfull of us here that have pretty much own and bashed through every design that TM, KA, G&P, classic Army, Systema, Progear, first factory and many others have come out with. The design of these mechboxes whether they are OEM clones or reinforced design by aftermarket company are still based on the original TM version and based on their design even the standard V3 and V6 have their flaws or else how can these company make money? can they come up with an easier more reliable "Flawless" design? sure why not? but the big question is will they (TM)?? will they make/design something so perfect that they will eventually put themself out of business? because your newly design mechbox are flawless, so there are no need for aftermarket or even replacement part. I think not

If the OP had opened a m14 and tinkered with that mechbox and complained, I would hear him out. For the v3 only the top metal slide pains me, my rebiulds have been less troublesome since I chose to practice (old mechbox + spare parts). You can't tell your friends you can upgrade the $500 guns they just bought if you only opened up yours once. Tell them its a project that could sink the whole gun into more $$$$ than it will ever resale for, tell them you suck but can try. If they still want to do it themselves they will ask you to aid them.


That is a really big problem with 'gunsmiths' that I have met, they can tell you everything. And yet they cannot get a shim job done right nor tell that the motor is too shrill, it serves no purpose. The people that claim they can operate on another persons gun should really be able to brag of accomplishments, point you to customers and give quoted results.

Has anyone hear ever heard of a MTHaynes GB and wether or not they have failed? They are custom machined by an individual and come in V2. Alot of good things have been said about these GB's, but I've never heard of them breaking.

I've seen this one before, but I don't think that's an MTHaynes. I've never seen one personnally, but I heard the guy who makes these, does them in runs. Besides, that ad doesn't state the maker.

My bad, I partied a little hard last night and I'm still a little cross eyed. Out of curiosity, has anyboby heard about this GB or know of it being used? Who actually makes this GB? None of the reviews on the site selling it, seem informative enough and w/o knowing who the maker is, I can't google it.
