Modify Smooth Modular Gearset in PGC Gearbox (M249)
Well, shit happened again with Mr M249, but for once, I didn't strip the piston ; I stripped the sector gear this time... so time for a new gearset I guess (those HS gears were too quick anyways).
Since I'm frequently disassembling my gearbox, I tought that those new modular gearset from Modify might be a good idea, in order to avoid re-shimming each and every time. I'm looking at the Torque-Up set for 7mm gearbox. I know that Modify specifies that these gearsets are only for TM gearboxes, but since I've never had any trouble fitting TM-style internals into my PGC V3 M249 gearbox, I guess that those should work (the main difference with the PGC Gearbox from the TM that I can see is the placement of the motor, which is to the rear of the gearbox instead of being into the pistol grip of the gun. So, what do you think, anyone had any experience doing something similar?

Is it possible to adjust this smooth gear set even without their special key? Did somebody find a way?
