quite. If you mount it on a self made rail it'll a. wobble like crazy b. be slightly slanted. Just kidding. But it would make much more sense to shave down the bits that are currently obstructing your sight would it not?

i dont know...i was thinking about shaving the sides too, but im scared it will be uneven, and noticable. However, if i carve an extra rail, u wouldnt be able to see it because the sight sits directly on top of it.

I say file the sides where it dosn't mesh. The only way it wont look even is if you do a sloppy job and it sounds like you care. I had similar problems with JG m4-S system and the stock iron sight. Had it filed and instead of paint I used a sharpie and its all good.
Peace.

Ya its off, but only where no ones really looking. The smallest amount of filing was required and I felt good about it so I did it. Paint would look better, but if marker did a decent job and all why would you try such an endeavor as carving an extra rail.

Just wondering if the 'arrow' at the mounting screws are pointing in the right way?

Okay guys, so I finally grew a pair of balls, bit the bullet and carved the last rail. The reason I chose to carve an additional rail as opposed to sanding the sides was that I may use other rear sights in the future, so might as well do a permanent fix of the problem now.
1. The gun laying on the table and a mark was drawn to guide the cutting 2. I wrapped it all up to prevent any scratches on the body of the gun: 3. I used a dremel to roughly cut in the slot: 4. I used 320, 1000 and 1500 grid sandpaper to smoothen out the walls of the slot as much as possisble. 5. Any of the small crevices or imperfections were filled in with cyanoacrylic glue, smoothened, and cured. 6. Finally, the gun went through 3 coats of flat black airbrushing, following by 2 coats of a matt finish to seal the paint. The rail looks as good as new now as NONE of the previous scratches from attachments are seen anymore. Its a nice smooth black finish like the original color. The rail will probably become scratched up again in the future, but there's nothing like a nice thin coat of matt black that can't fix it. Feel free to comment.
